A new way to be a snitch: 'Text-a-tip'
Albequerque Libertarian Examiner ^ | December 1, 2009 | Kent McManigal

Some places are very innovative in the pursuit of death and tyranny. If it isn't cameras watching our every move, and a permit check for every activity, it is finding ways to recruit the lowest common denominator of "society" as eyes and ears for the state.

Just in case you want to be able to hand people over to the government, call it "violence-by-proxy", but you are too cowardly to risk the real-world consequences of doing so openly, the LEOs are anxious to accommodate you. You can now anonymously (so they say) text a tip to the local enforcers.

TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Crime/Corruption
KEYWORDS: government; snitch; texting
The other thing I hate are "Amber Alerts". If I had personal knowledge of the case, I might report something, but if you're a government and you're looking for some guy what better way to enlist the public than to claim he took a kid? Plus, I've read that most "kidnappings" are by the non-custodial parent, so you might end up assisting to enforce a custody decree you would never have agreed with in the first place.

Ask Tamara Brooks and Jacqueline Marris if they share your view.

I’m sure they don’t. Any good person is very solicitous of the welfare of a child. That’s what makes it such a ripe opportunity for statists to exploit. If some guy were going to try to feed you poison in your food, do you think he’d go out of his way to make the food taste like shit? No, he’d make it taste as good as he possibly could.

And like I said, if I had evidence that a legitimate kidnapping were in progress, I would have no problem with reporting that.

What do you think the chances are of remaining anonymous for long if you used the "tool" to report aggression by the state's own hired thugs, or reported an IRS employee for theft?

A thief stuck a pistol in a man’s ribs and said, “Give me your money.”

The gentleman, shocked by the sudden attack, said “You cannot do this, I’m a United States congressman!”

The thief said, “In that case, give me my money!”

Not too good 1984 is behind schedule but has caught up rather quickly lately. Have you seen this article?

I've read that most "kidnappings" are by the non-custodial parent

Flip side is that most non-family kidnappings result in the child being killed within 24 hours (and most of those within 4 hours).

Considering the risk of delay, there isn't time to pontificate over whether & what a judge - empowered by our society to make decisions the rest of us shouldn't - may have ruled.

I’m not pontificating, just assuming the government is lying about their true motives.

You are already seeing this at sporting events which have had a history of fan rowdiness. See someone acting like a jerk? Then text an anonymous tip to 00666.

Today stadium ushers, tomorrow the Obama Civilian Security Block Watch...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

A kidnapper steals the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness of his victim. This is the very purpose of government. We have government to protect life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

So...Yes, I am for legitimate Amber Alerts! If government is using them illegitimately then it is time to reform or overthrow the government. In fact, according to the Declaration of Independence it is our **duty** to do so.
