I have my doubts about the method, because beta-blockers are really bitter (I’ve taken propanolol.) So unless it was some sort of really bitter salad, endive, dandelion, bitter cucumber...you would notice. A middle-eastern salad tends to be finely chopped cucumbers and tomatoes, and the middle-eastern cucumbers, not bitter. Maybe...
