Hurricanes.... St Thomas

This areas hurricane past
1837 40lb rocks from 40 ft deep were reported to be thrown on shore
1867 st thomas was destroyed by a major hurricane press 27.95
1871 another major hurricane with 115mph winds devestates the island aug 21st 27 killed in the virgin islands
>1876 sept 13th a 80mph canes hits from the east
1891 aug 19th 95mph
1893 aug 16th 95mph
1910 sept 6th 95mph just south
1916 aug22nd 95mph
1928 sept 13th a cat 5 just south heavy damage. US president asking for help
1932 sept 27th just north 110mph
1960 Hurricane Donna passes just North with 140mph winds killing 107 in the northern Antilles and puerto rico. 1960 sept 5th,Hurricane Donna passes just north by 30 miles with 130mph winds.more here
1984 tropical storm Klaus hits with 70mph winds in november catching residents off guard
1989 hurricane Hugo brushes well to the south but damaged hotels on the south shore,the virgin isle,watergate & island beachcomber were hit hard
1995 hurricane Marilyn hits sept 16th with 110mph winds causing heavy damage 40% homes destroyed & 80% of businesses were destroyed,press 28.35. 1 year later only 2,700 out of 4,000 rooms were available. Newspaper article
1996 hurricane Bertha on july 8th brushed by 1 school collapsed some roof damage from 85mph winds press 29.03
1998 hurricane Georges with 110mph winds just south causes 55 boats to sink in the virgin islands & causes wide spread power outages.
Aug 22nd 2000 Hurricane Debby brushes just north with 75mph winds causing minor damage.

Oh, yes. That station is on my list. Apparently there's another 378 in Kodiak, so I intend to put that one at the top. The Munroe. Big ships are cool, and, also, you get much street cred in the Guard from doing time on one or two. Plus, now that I consider it, being at a boat station sounds extremely boring. You don't go anywhere or even do much. I like being underway. You go cool places, and also, have opportunity to sleep when not on watch. I don't get to sleep much in port. I have no desire to go to an ISU. I might go insane from boredom.
