ATLANTA Former state Sen. Kasim Reed appears to have edged out Councilwoman Mary Norwood in a hotly-contested race for Atlanta mayor. But, Norwood did not concede and could still call for a recount as Reed appears to have won by 758 votes. According to the Fulton County elections Web site, Reed garnered 41,901 votes to Norwoods 41,143 votes. Reed and Norwood faced off in Tuesdays runoff election after neither candidate received 50 percent of the vote during the Nov. 3 election.

ACORN ALERT!!!!!! VOTER FRAUD!! She was LEADING.
Only 80 something thousand votes?
Somebody doesn’t give a crap.
She doesn’t stand much of a chance. ACORN will only increase the lead for her opponent. Still many ‘uncounted’ ballot boxes to be found if needed.
Sad state of affairs in our ‘election’ process.
It was very interesting that even by close of the polls at 8, none of the precincts were reporting. I told my wife that means Norwood is leading and they don’t want to report it. By 11 last night, they still would not give numbers and only 75% of precincts were reporting. With only 80K voting, how hard is it?
My wife and I just looked at each other and nodded.
Most in the city proper do not. But, the weather stunk and really there are only about 400k in the city of Atlanta. 6 million in the metro, but the city itself is small. Thankfully.
Norwood only led by about 1500 votes last night, with mostly the northern more affluent/ non-ACORN districts reporting.
So, when the final 9% of the votes came in from south Fulton County (south end of the City), the vote total swung to Reed.
It’s another good day to live outside the city limits of Atlanta.
Very true. Most folks outside of Atlanta don;t realize how small the city of Atlanta really is (geographically). Fulton County is MUCH larger than the city itself.
A lot of press goes to the Mayor of Atlanta, but that office is not really very powerful EXCEPT for the fact that the city control$ the Atlanta airport. Thank you Maynard Jackson.
Notice the ACORN districts report last. Always.
This way they know how many votes are needed and always come in with the needed totals.
So transparent. I would think the more affluent districts would learn a lesson here but they seem to be a bit hard headed.
Yet another black democrap winning an acorn-tainted election.
Yeah they are now reporting that the uncounted ballots are the “provisional” ones. I bet they are.
Nice try Norwood, but you were the wrong color.
Where are the headlines saying Blacks will never vote for a white candidate over a Black one because of their inherent racism?
Ding. Ding. Ding. We have a winner here.
: )
wonder how many times Mickey Mouse voted!
ACORN strikes again!
Norwood was doing quite well with voters that are still alive. However, candidates ignore the dead at their peril. The Democrats serve the departed much better than the Republicans .... and those folks know it!
