Huck is only defending himself from all the vitriol on the right, which to me is disgusting and anti-Christian. He didn’t release the man. He wasn’t part of the fiasco of those two judges who gave him the opportunity to make bail after a child rape charge.

Enough already with attacking him to make political points or to prop up the deadweight Romney. Romney has enough blood on his hands for supporting abortion in Massachusetts for so many years but I don’t see a lot of Free Republic members (especially the Mormon members) having an incessant cow over that.

Actually, over the past several weeks, nearly every thread posted had an automatic anti-Romney message attached to it. Did you not notice?

I know there are some pro-Romney FReepers. I’m not one of them. And I stand by what I posted about the Huckster.

He freed 1000 criminals. Are you aware of that?

If Huck were a Buddhist, would you label our so-called attacks on Huck anti-Buddhist; if Huck was an atheist would they be labelled as anti-secular?

C’mon get a life. Just because Huck is a Christian doesn’t mean he can hide behind his Christian faith or that his critics are lambasting him based on his Christian faith.

I have been a poster at FR for several months. 95% of the posters are rational and intelligent and know enough to focus on what is important in any story which is the event itself.

Simply, Huck caused Clemmons to be put back on the streets. Clemmons shot and killed 4 police officers (they found a dead police officer’s gun on Clemmon’s person after he was killed). Huck didn’t pull the trigger, but he allowed a person who should have been still incarcerated back on the streets.

You argue we shouldn’t hold that against Huck. Well in the real world we might not, but this is hardcore politics, baby, and in hardcore politics, this is definitely political in terms of any Presidential aspirations Huck has because it goes to his judgment, the quality of his decisions and to his political savvy. And that is highly relevant regardless of who the presidential aspirant is.

And here comes the anti-Christian card. I suppose opposing illegals is non Christian as well. Your messiah, The Huckatard, thinks so.

Ummm, he reduced the sentence enough for Clemmons to become instantly eligible for parole. While the most of the culpability should belong to the idiots who didn’t jail him for various parole violations, this is where the issue started.
Further, this idiot granted clemency to over a 1000 criminals who were subsequently paroled. I wonder how many were hurt or killed thanks to Huckabee’s misplaced generosity?
I hope Huckabee doesn’t waste our time in the coming campaign season.

Huck is reaping what he sowed. He should be ridiculed. And his political future should be over. An example needs to be made of Huck, to prevent future Huck wannabe trajedies. 4 of our bravest are dead because of Huck’s idiocy.

I have no problem with fingers pointing at Huckabee as being a reason this guy continued him crime spree, ending with the death of four officers. As long as those fingers are also pointing at the many others that time and time again failed to put public safety first. Between Arkansas and Washington, there is a whole list of people who should of found reason enough to keep this POS off the street. Case in point, he was being charged in Washington for his “Third Strike”, and if convicted would face Life in prison. (Washington has a Three Strikes your out Law). What Judge in his right mind would let him out on bail with a Life sentence facing him? Especially after receiving the Psych Report.....

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A court-ordered psychological evaluation of Maurice Clemmons in October found that he was a risk to public safety, but that there was insufficient reason to commit the man who allegedly went on to kill four Lakewood police officers over the weekend.

Clemmons told the psychologists he hallucinated about “people drinking blood and people eating babies, and lawless on the street, like people were cannibals.”

He went on to say he had “no faith in the justice system” and that he thought he was being “maliciously persecuted because I'm black and they believe the police.”

Clemmons was arrested in May on the assault charges. Prosecutors contend he punched a sheriff's deputy sent to investigate someone breaking windows.

At the time of his arrest, he allegedly made “religiously-themed comments, told the officer President Obama and Lebron James are his brothers, Oprah (Winfrey) is his sister and referred to himself as ‘the beast,”’ the report states.

I’ve been saying what you’ve just said. 108 years for a burglary is an awful tough sentence for a 17 year old. And also,if the parole board recommended a change in sentence.
A 47 year sentence would seem enough for the crimes committed to me too.
A lot of folks would advocate firing squad for traffic violations as long as it isn’t them. Stuff happens. Folks who start blaming everyone that ever had contact with a person, or tried to help him, are acting just like the liberals do.
Every felon that has been released from prison was released by someone. Some will change thier lives, some won’t.I don’t have any statistics here, but I’d suspect that nearly all cop killers aren’t first time offenders.
I don’t want Huck for president. I don’t think he has the leadership qualities necessary. JMO, But I do believe he is a Christian, and people ought to stop acting like he let Clemmons go because Clemmons promised him he’d whack a bunch of cops as soon as he had a chance. The biased MSM are laughing thier butts off at us now, too. All they had to do was mention a connection between Huckabee and the perp and watch him get eaten. Does anyone think THEY care one bit about the officers that got shot?

He may not have actually released the man, but he made that release possible.  It amounts to the same thing.

Sorry, in my view Huckabee deserves every bit of the vitriol he's getting.

“Huck is only defending himself from all the vitriol on the right, which to me is disgusting and anti-Christian”

Huckabee is not the whole problem with Clemmins but he is a big part of it. He originally reduced his sentence which made him immediately eligible for parole which started the whole process. If Huckabee had not done what he had done Clemmins would still be in prison.
Clemmens was not the only violent criminal Huckabee helped release. He freed far more violent offenders than any other governor. He freed Wayne Dumond who later raped and murdered an innocent young girl.

Stop bringing up Romney. Romney being was pro-choice in Mass. does not in anyway excuse Huckabee’s actions.

Finally, I deeply resent people who say that opposing the release of violent criminals is anti-Christian. When you say that because you are in favor letting violent criminals go free and kill innocent people you are a better Christian than I am makes me very angry. I strongly disagree with all the politicians who release violent criminals including Huckabee and I resent people like you who say that makes me anti-Christian.
