A Word to the Huck Haters

Cop-Killer???

A little bit of light needs to be shed on a funny little thing called FACTS as it pertains to the issues surrounding the suspected cop-killer Maurice Clemmons. Shamefully prominent voices in the Conservative punditocracy (mostly ones who supported Romney in the last go-round) have come out attempting to link Gov. Mike Huckabee to the killings in Seattle that took the lives of four police officers.

Most of these spared little thought for the families, and jumped right into the band-wagon in denouncing Huck as soft on crime, and a friend to criminals, or a bleeding heart Christian. (Funny how the mainstream always accuses Christians of not having a heart.)

All that being said, these Conservative pundits are wrong on the material substance in linking the two and if they continue to do so it says more about their own character than that of the former Governor.

Yes Gov. Huckabee commuted a 100+ year sentence for a person who was a minor when he committed a series of burglaries. He commuted it all the way down to 40 years.

But let’s get some facts straight:

1. That commutation did not pardon, declare innocent or acquit Clemmons of his wrong doing.

2. Clemmons remained on parole following his commutation and when he violated that parole he was brought in for those crimes. (At this point in time, Huckabee’s involvement with Clemmons was over.)

3. It was prosecutorial malfeasance that THEN allowed Clemmons to walk free, NOT a Huckabee commutation.

4. Sometime after that incident Clemmons moves to Washington State, and by all signs possible, lives the life of a model citizen.

5. After that 5-6 year stretch of time Clemmons begins to have skirmishes with Washington State authorities.

6. In Washington State there is a 3 strike law. Which means that when accumulating serious offenses in that state, the third time will incur automatic sentencing that can not be altered.

7. The child-rape Clemmons was most recently charged with was considered his 3rd strike IN WASHINGTON.

First of all, I was not trying to use Clinton as a moral standard. So you read that wrong.

The main fact is, if Huckabee had not commutted Clemmons sentence from 108 to 45 years, he would still be in prison today. One girl would not have been raped. Four police officers would not have been killed. The sole responsibilitiy belongs squarely on Huckabee.

Good luck supporting that immoral bastard. I will do my best to see that more and more people find out what a slimey weasel he is.

The State of Washington turned him loose on bail. A 1 minute review of his prior convictions would have counseled any rational person to KEEP HIM IN JAIL PENDING.

I like to take these little, tiny baby steps backwards, else we find ourselves debating how his mother suckled him.

I’ve never been a Huck lover and feel that his judgement was impared. However with that said, the scum-bag liberals who run the state of Washington have more blood on their hands than Huck. Some day, people are going to wake up and elect the right people not the slime that currently runs the state of WA. How many more Clemmons types are running loose? Hundreds!

Huckabee specifically went after Romney because of his religion. I saw it. I heard it. I have nothing for or against Mormonism. At least they are not beheading people and such. But to equate his religion with Satan was over the top. Huckabee is a slimey weasel of a man who attempts to use what little charm he has and a gift for gab to con people. Most grifters do it for money. He is doing it for power.

All enlightened governments have ABOLISHED PAROLE.

Guarantee there's far less oversight regarding who gets paroled than who gets pardoned, or has a sentence commuted.

We don't have parole around here so we know that if we serve on a jury and send a guy to jail (or to the gurney ~ lot of that in fact ~ our juries love them gurnies) he's going to go there for the stated sentence.

That's really the only way.

Can you imagine what a field day the MSM would have had with this IF The Huckster were POTUS? They would be calling for his impeachment!

OTOH, the Democrats have their "Messiah" and now it seems we have ours...if you believe the Huckabee lovers.

Try to get it through your head - Huckabee started this train wreck by commutting his sentence. I don’t care how young he was when he went in. Prison is nothing but finishing school for these scumbags. As someone stated before - if Huckaphoney had not commutted the original sentence, the scumbag would be rotting in a Arkansas prison now instead of raping a girl and killing four police officers. Rationalize that!

People - especially some on this site - can’t seem to recognize things. The MSM wants this guy - Huckaphoney - to be the Rep candidate. Then everything will come out on him - drip by drip. You think Clemmons is the only one. He pardoned over a thousand! Some of those went on to commit more heinous crimes. The ComPost, NYSlimes, et al, would have a field day dripping these stories out on a daily basis. Why people on this site still want to see this clown as POTUS I cannot understand.

Over the top? Ever read all of Smith's sermons ~ should do that some time. Very enlightening.

No doubt no Mormons but General Authorities subscribe to that doctrine ~

BTW, the issue isn't whether or not Romany worships Satan ~ that's a trivial item when it comes to politicians ~ after all, where would Satan be without his armies of politicians?!

The real issue here isn't the detail, but the "religious question" per se. All of the Republicans passed the test ~ they attend religious services with some regularity.

Beyond that, it's just quibeling.

1. That commutation did not pardon, declare innocent or acquit Clemmons of his wrong doing.

No, it just let him out to commit more crimes.

2. Clemmons remained on parole following his commutation and when he violated that parole he was brought in for those crimes. (At this point in time, Huckabee’s involvement with Clemmons was over.)

He turned a violent criminal loose on society.  His involvement will never be over.

3. It was prosecutorial malfeasance that THEN allowed Clemmons to walk free, NOT a Huckabee commutation.

If he was still in prison, there would have been no prosecutorial malfeasance.

4. Sometime after that incident Clemmons moves to Washington State, and by all signs possible, lives the life of a model citizen.

That's a model citizen?  Wow, you must have pretty low standards.

5. After that 5-6 year stretch of time Clemmons begins to have skirmishes with Washington State authorities.

Which wouldn't have been possible if Huck hadn't let him out of prison.

6. In Washington State there is a 3 strike law. Which means that when accumulating serious offenses in that state, the third time will incur automatic sentencing that can not be altered.

Let's hope Arkansas doesn't have a governor like Huck.

7. The child-rape Clemmons was most recently charged with was considered his 3rd strike IN WASHINGTON.

Which wouldn't have happened if he was still in prison IN ARKANSAS.

I don’t hate Huckabee. He’s a decent radio commentator and seems like a nice guy.

But he’s a big government republican who has more in common with Romney than he does with Reagan.

Yep, it sure looks like Huck wasn’t the problem here.

Still won’t vote for him though. RINOs with southern accents and a rock band are still RINOs.

In order to hate Huckabee, I would have to expend energy on the emotion. He isn’t worth my time.

I don’t hate Huck, I just think he’s a weasel.

We found out everything we need to know about Huck at the "Running this ad about Romney would be dangerous to my soul, so I'll show it to a room full of reporters instead" press conference in Iowa. And trust me, I'm no Romney fan!

"Why people on this site still want to see this clown as POTUS I cannot understand."

Well, they are in the minority.

Huck can't make up his mind about being a Politician, TV commentator, Radio Paul Harvey, or Preacher.

He's a jack of all trades. Master of none.

Well stated. That's exactly why we call him Snake Oil Salesman.
