Other than that, he is a military genius.
That is all.
Fine, *shrugs*
I’ll just stick to getting solid content by following National Review and NPR’s live blogs/tweets back to back. That way I get a solid contrast.
I was just hoping that Freepers had some actual real critique as opposed to “BOY I SURE HATE THAT GUY WHAT A JERK!!!” I don’t like the guy either, but I at least take a real interest in what’s going on.
Good grief - maybe it’s his anorexia kicking in (my guess of his condition)...probably scaring the children who are watching.
What you have to understand is the people who support Obama expect something for nothing. They are small minded and selfish.
Bin Laden doesn’t need a teleprompter...he has Barrack Hussein Obama!
Great irony that Obama gave his speech from the base of the original traitor, Benedict Arnold....
Bush had his faults. We all do. But, he admired and respected and had the respect of our military. He was humble in their presence, NOT the other way around as obama expects our military to be.
And Bush never would have used those Cadets this way.
Just WHAT accent is he trying to imitate? I just haven’t really figured that one out at all!! Somebody tell me! Seriously!
I attended a comedy show with the black comedian George Wallace in Las Vegas a while ago. His punch line was “they need their ass kicked”. I really think there are people for whom that holds true.
That's a load of BS. I can tell you people about people I don't like. Phonies and liars, not much of a distinction there. You and Obama fit the description however.
Am glad to know that the Cadets are showing their disdain for the impostor in chief.
I feel so badly for them that they must suffer under this impostor. Felt the same way when Clinton was in charge. But at least we weren’t at war then (except in the wag the dog war in Serbia).
The accent is just the standard American “if I make all the vowels long it sounds exotic.”
The pronunciation of “Pakistan” is relatively close, but jars with the American pronunciation of “Afghanistan”. As noted above, the “local” prounciation has the “ah as in calm” versus “a as in cat” sound. Plus the Afghan “gh” is rolled in the back of the throat.
HOWEVER, doing long vowels for “Tal-ee-ban” is silly, since it’s a short “i” in Arabic. So even in Arabic, as well as in Dari and Pashto, it’s “Tahl-ih-BON”.
So yeah, it’s just generic “trying to sound exotic but just making it up.”
Substantive comment. See, isn’t this nicer than just kvetching?
Darn...I was driving, listening on satelite! I could have been drinking!
I miss President George W Bush as well - he was a Commander in Chief who loved his troops and they loved him. He was proud of them and they him.
You are correct in your analysis, but...someone always has to pay the bill. There are a lot of monied supporters of O that he expects to fork over more of their wealth to pay for his social programs. I am not an acedemic, but common sense tells me you don’t support someone who always is looking to put their hand in your pocket.
I worked in a “ghetto” when I was in LE. I saw everyday that there were people who were so entrenched in the welfare system that they had no other way to survive. This is a direct result of the nanny state that is perpetuated on minorities by Democrats. The only difference between today’s minorities and slavery is the Democrats are using social programs to keep people “down on the plantation.”
Yo Freepers, I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but NPR had one of the best live threads of all time. One of the best live threads of all time.
It was plain to see from where I sat. There was polite applause a few times because of decorum but no standing ovations.
Hey — get down off your high horse and quit looking down your nose at the rest of us.
We read NR and other lofty blogs and also listen to a variety of audio/video discussions, just like you do. We think deep thoughts and care greatly about serious issues.
We ain’t idiots.
But sometimes we need to vent. Give your fellow FReepers a break and let us blow off a little steam amongst ourselves once in a while, OK?
It’s therapeutic.
Thank you soooo much! Now it makes sense. That clears things up totally for me on the only puzzlement I ever had regarding the “Anointed One”.
You will not get a good line on what's going on by watching or listening to The Exalted 0ne Himself 0bama.
