Ping to an article regarding new textbook standards in Texas. Please forgive me for the blatant abuse of the txgov2010 ping list. I felt this was important information for TX FReepers to have.
Islam is the mortal enemy of Western civilization, and has been for almost 14 centuries.
If there are, please tell the rest of us why you don't believe it is.
Unified? Islam was split not long after Mohammed in a bloody fight over succession as the leader of the Muslims.
What Johnny needs to learn about Islam is that it is NOT, nor was it ever, a religion of “peace”. It has advanced by the sword since its inception. He also needs to learn that the crusades were not “evil”, but a clash between two competing religions over a piece of land that didn’t belong to EITHER of them and Western civ’s justifications were better founded (the protection of Christian pilgrims)than were those of the Islamic agressors. Women under Islam are nothing more than farm animals (hello Burka Barbie?) and that some of them are willing to strap bombs to their own children. So-called “moderate” muslims don’t have the stones to stand up to the crazies, so the “religion” isn’t likely to advance much beyond what it is now.
Here’s a bit more for Johnny to learn: Islam’s founder was nothing BUT a man, unlike Jesus Christ who was much, much more. Mohammed stole his “religion” from every known religion of that time, especially Judaism, a religion they claim to hate. Jealous, perhaps? What was once an amazing and progressive civilization stalled about the time of the founding of this “religion” and that is where it has stayed, except for losing some of its original brilliance along the way, until we see what it is now- sharia law stalled on 8th century lifestyles. It is a “religion” based on ancient hatreds.
Time for another crusade...
