Ping to an article regarding new textbook standards in Texas. Please forgive me for the blatant abuse of the txgov2010 ping list. I felt this was important information for TX FReepers to have.

Thanks for the ping. As a retired teacher, it is interesting. I knew they were working on new standards for Social Studies. There was an adoption after 9/11. I remember doing some comparisons on how it was handled.
I know from my grandchildren that some of their most liberal teachers are the history teachers. My oldest grandson, who is now stationed in San Antonio, loved to 'tweak' two of them. The one he had for Gov't/Eco said she would not get into politics with him.

Thanks for the ping, BuckeyeTexan.
So, will the new guidelines include an in-depth study of how Islam joined the Nazis in their attempt to exterminate the Jews, all in accordance with the Koran under Palestinian leader Haj Amin al Husseini, who was not only Grand Mufti of Jerusalem but also Waffen SS recruiter and Nazi propagandist in Berlin?
That was a pretty unifying experience.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.
