I’m glad I left NY State 20 years ago.

I saw this coming even back then.

State government is running out of money and soon won't be able to pay all its bills.

Cut back on government employees and social programs. All they do is consume. Give tax relief to those people who produce. I don't understand why Washington doesn't do it. It's easy, fast, and it's free.

For better or worse, I’m in the Hedge Fund business so I really have no place else to go.

Well didn’t NY vote for this? I mean they have been using Wall Street to float their boat for the past 30 years. Now that the street is broken they will need to find new money elsewhere. Maybe they need another tax increase? That surely will help things. I think another tax increase on the rich would do the trick for NY as well as CA. If they try and tax stock transactions they will find that the electronic stock market can be based anywhere in the nation to avoid their takings. Imagine the stock market based in Charlotte, NC? Could easily happen.

I don't understand why Washington doesn't do it.

The reason is because social spending buys the votes of the recipients of said spending. FDR knew that back in the 1930s he could be voted President For Life by simply buying the votes of a majority of the electorate by way of social programs. It has been a staple of politicians of both parties ever since.

This is why even when the GOP is in power nothing is ever cut.

I have a great idea... NY needs to RAISE TAXES and tack even further left and import another carpetbagging Senator... that's the ticket!

Wrong, wrong.

All Americans are due for a surprise.

If CA has a GNP that is 8th in the world and it collapses, which it is certain to do and if NY collapses as it is certain to do, and Obummer, the Marxist now posing as a Fascist bails them out, which is probable, this country will find itself in the same position as Dubai.

Because on top of NY and CA, we have NJ and IL.

All of those added together would be enough to bring down the US financial system.

Except that the financial system is already running on bluff.

The US is in exactly the same situation as the rich guy who has lost everything, in debt to everyone, but who is still conning the rubes by convincing them that he is good for today's purchases.

“Trust me”, the first words out of a con man's mouth.

Maybe they should cut taxes, spending, and regulation to spur economic growth rather than flight by the producers.

only option is to shut down unions as they currently operate, using RICO and DOJ anti-trust rules.

I hope a political leader would emerge to proudly push for this.

Now that the street is broken they will need to find new money elsewhere.

The left does this sort of thing all the time.
They thought it was unfair to have one kid smarter than another and ended up destroying the public schools all together. Now all the kids are ignorant.
They said marriage was enslaving, and now they complain about the poor single mothers and their hungry children not having enough money to live on.
They complained about the rich having houses, so now people are losing their homes right and left.
They complained about the rich guys on wall street making too much money, and now they don't have enough tax revenue to pay for their their food stamps program. Go figure.

What should we do to help them fix all their mistakes? Nothing. Let them wallow in their own filth for a while. Maybe they'll learn something from it. (Go Galt)

“Imagine the stock market based in Charlotte, NC? Could easily happen.”

Does that mean The Wall Street Journal would have to rename itself after whatever the main drag is in Charlotte ?

Yeah, even Tennessee Harold Ford is talking about taking on Gillibrand in a Senate primary. Liberal hacks from accross the land flock to NY to become the next Dumocrat Senate candidate. Horrible. But that’s Federal.

Problem with the state level is nobody cares. Everyone from NY City votes for the mayor and have no clue who their state Senator or Assemblymember are. Don’t know, don’t care. For state elections they just vote Dum without knowing who or why. That’s how we got what we got.

If memory serves me, the main drag in Charlotte is North Tyron Street. So the new stock market would be known as Tyron Street. Works for me. Much prefer to see my fellow Southerners making a good living then all those imports in NYC.

Those of us in flyover country will revolt when the feds try to stick us with the bill for bailing out the states on the Left & East Coasts.

Texas legislators are looking at the next budget, to keep spending in line with projected revenues. I believe our "rainy day fund" is still $8-9 billion, and we want to keep it that way.

seriously, if they are going to give out obscene pensions and medical benefits for retirees and their spouses, they could at least TAX them like other peoples pensions.....

of course the grander scheme would be to stop hiring, close schools, consolidate them, close down athletics, freeze welfare....

its the govt pensions folks....its no secret

You will pay. The East and Left coasts are democrat strongholds, and the democrats "won."

If the dems want to keep winning, they better get unemployment down to 8% by next November. My network of friends and associates are girding themselves for a double-dip recession.

Democrats are going to have to come out in record numbers to stave off the coming tsunami. There are no indications of that whatsoever.

Who cares. I *want* NY to crash and burn. What an arrogant, elitist, criminal, evil, leftist, socialist, racist, conceited bunch of people. Look at the despicable America-hating destroyers they have foisted on us: Mario Cuomo, Andrew Cuomo, Hillary Clinton, Chuck “I hate guns” Schumer, Charles “the cheater” Rangel, Alan “I killed the Dollar” Greenspan, Henry “free money for bankers” Paulson, Tim “Turbo Tax” Geithner.

These people are not just f’ing up NY. They are (have) f’d up the entire USA. We (US, WE, ALL US TAXPAYERS) are going to be paying off the Bonds that have been created to bail out a few rich guys in NYC for GENERATIONS. The heirs of Geither, Paulson and the 100 guys at Goldman-Sachs will be living in luxury jet setting around while the rest of us dumb schmucks try to find some person/party willing to cut our tax rate DOWN to ONLY 60%...

Chelsea Clinton just announce she is marrying a Goldman-mob “made-man”.

So FNY.

The NY mob (Goldman-Sachs, JP Morgan, Wall Street) makes the Chicago guys look like small-timers. In fact the Obama administration is really a mob-merger. The machine politics of Daley merged with the high level financial criminal expetise of the Goldman-gang.

Nothing could please me more than “The New York Model” failing and failling BIG TIME.

I *love* that the leader of NY is a blind, illiterate, black politician who got the job due to a hooker scandal that he could not have won himself in 1000 years, even in NY !!! Sweet!! And even better, he has gone Rogue and doesn’t care what Obama, Cuomo, and other made-men of The Organizatoin have to say.

After all NYC (along with their think-tank city Boston) is the home of both popular and elite race bating. Al Sharpton is a proud NY politician. Columbia, NYU, Harvard, etc. churn out endless justifications for racist anti-white programs like affirmative action, hate crime laws. The corrrupt, mobbed up NY politicians turn these into laws, laws that are binding on all 50 states frequently.

And when, their lessors (ie: the rest of the USA) doesn’t follow their dictats, as is the case with our more Constitutional gun laws, they use their money-power to try to make us bend to their will. Look at that pathetic schmutz Bloomberg and his completely illegal attempts to intimidate out-of-state gun sellers to follow HIS desires.

The hubris of NY Politicians knows no bounds.

It’s going to be fun to watch Gov. Patterseon be taken down, if they can. (You know the Italian Mob ran the Detroit heroin trade until the late 1970s when the black street gangs figured out they didn’t need them, too. Eventually tools get tired of being used.)

Does the Gov. give a damn about the Cuomo machine? Obama? I don’t think so. Gonna be fun.

As for the retards living in NY: they deserve whatever comest their way. (To the six NY Freepers who are still there: my condolences. I’d advise leaving soon. No sense being the last cow in the barn. You are going to be very sore from being milked, and when you stop producing they will turn you into hamburger.)

I have zero sympathy for them, they inflict these people on us. NY can, should and will GO TO HELL. I will stand on this side of the Rockies applauding!!
