Maurice Clemmons, the 37-year-old Tacoma man being sought for questioning in the killing of four Lakewood police officers this morning, has a long criminal record punctuated by violence, erratic behavior and concerns about his mental health.
Nine years ago, then-Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee granted clemency to Clemmons, commuting his lengthy prison sentence over the protestations of prosecutors.
"This is the day I've been dreading for a long time," Larry Jegley, prosecuting attorney for Arkansas' Pulaski County said Sunday night when informed that Clemmons was being sought in connection to the killings.
Clemmons' criminal history includes at least five felony convictions in Arkansas and at least eight felony charges in Washington. The record also stands out for the number of times he has been released from custody despite questions about the danger he posed.
Clemmons had been in jail in Pierce County for the past several months on a pending charge of second-degree rape of a child.
He was released from custody just six days ago, even though he was wanted on a fugitive warrant out of Arkansas and was staring at eight felony charges in all out of Washington state.

Take a bet on this guy being a convert to the ROP?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Betcha my entire 401K that he is?
So?....Any guesses on how many days, weeks, or months it will take the media to report on that important bit of information.
Have they even yet admitted Hasan’s?
Huck was apparently just the first o f many who let this guy back on the street time and time again.
Police responded to the home at East Yesler Way and 32nd Avenue South where police stopped a woman who was leaving the home. She told them Maurice Clemmons was on the property and bleeding, according to a law enforcement source. The woman told police that someone had dropped Clemmons off at the home.Police surround Seattle home where person of interest in police shooting may be hiding
Praying that it’s him!

Sorry for the delay. Seattle PD believes it may have the suspect located in a house that’s just a few blocks from where the Halloween shooting was.
The link to the bail story is: http://www.nctimes.com/news/local/escondido/article_202f32b7-8380-5dfc-a895-1b663bc7c650.html
Thanks. Is it ESCONDIDO California? Maybe that accounts for the difference in bail bond. That state is in worse economic shape the WA.
You can't get near Little Rock in four hours from AK. AK is the abbreviation for ALASKA. AR is Arkansas. LOL Signed; An old Arky transplanted to Alaska.
I forgot to mention; I really, sincerely, hope he is gutshot. I hope they don’t find him in time.
They appear to have found him, see my post 149.
Get used to it. He’ll be back shortly.
This guy was a good reason for extra legal assassination squads.
You are correct, they are all over the place mostly due to ineffective prosecution, lienent judges, lack of jail space and above all the concept of giving someone a second, third and fourth chance.
How long has government been running justice? Now they want to run health care. No thanks.
Now they want to run health care. What will be the results of that?
It shows what a poor judge of people Huck is. By underestimating Clemmons’ capacity for evil got these
four Lakewood officers killed.
Underestimating our adveraries in Iran, China, Russia,
or NK could get thousands more killed.
Thankfully, Huckabee will never get the chance.
