--The polls across little Honduras will be opening in just 8 minutes from now, at 8 a.m. Eastern Time/5:00 a.m. Pacific. Elections will held for the President, the Parliament and local officials.
--Nearly 100% of polling places have received their ballots.
--The US Government has backtracked a bit under Obama, and said it will abide by the election results
--Japan has donated millions of lempiras to assist in today's vote. The Ambassador to Israel is also an observer, as well as blue ribbon observers from Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salavador and other nations.
--By and large, the Socialist Fraternity of Central and South America (Venezuela, Brazil, Cuba, Ecuador, Bolivia, etc), along with the (Jimmy) Carter Center and other international and regional organizations are not supporting the election and will not recognize the results as expressed by the people.
--The supporters of former President Mel Zelaya--who was removed from office last summer for his directing a Hugo Chavez-type leftist power takeover and holed up in the Brazilian Embassy in Honduras--and Honduran extreme Left and Communist organizations are boycotting the election and some have been turning to violence.
--The main parties in the election for President are, in order of perceived strength: The National Party (Lobo), The Liberal Party (Santos), The PUD (Ham), the PINU (Martinez), and the Christian Democrats (Avila). Lobo of the pro-US National Party seems to be in the lead.
--Honduran radio stations are covering this live on the net with streaming. One will need to understand Spanish:
HRN and Radio America. Both have been threatened and attacked by anti-government Communists (La Resistencia).
--Communist weapons caches were seized last night--these were believed to have been intended to disrupt the election. Such weapons and other items seized were: RPG-7 grenade launchers, molotov cocktails, AK-47s, plastic explosives, fragmentation grenades, etc. Power stations have also been attacked. It remains to be seen the level of turnout by the Honduran people today, but the popular media is proclaiming it as a great day for freedom and democracy, a "National Festival" and that there is no reason why everyone should not come out of their houses and go to the polling stations, vote, and celebrate the day.
--Police and national authorities are keeping order; there are worries that ACORN-type trouble makers may try to disturb polling places or steal ballot boxes.
--Disgraced former President Mel Zelaya (Communist) appears to be heading for political asylum in Nicaragua--as rumors would have it.
Please post updates to this thread throughout today.
Ping!
Bump!
Sure hope the socialists in Honduras do not cause havoc at the polling places today.
Good luck Honduras, Show Americas marxist president a thing or two.
God bless the Honduran people. They toughed it out.
B U M P
They are now playing the beautiful Honduran national anthem live on all stations. The country is in a fighting mood. This is great!
We must turn back hemispheric communism, and Honduras is the first, key battle.
This is kind of like kicking A.C.O.R.N. in the teeth this morning, only with hot salsa poured on top!
And keep http://lagringasblogicito.blogspot.com/
handy
Ping! And will find out what other freedom loving American organizations will not recognize this vote and write to them and post it on the web wherever I can.
Bravo, let this be an example to our own country.
Run the little rat out of town.
Thanks for the thread!
Viva Honduras!
Even though I support capitalism I want to thank you for a FREE thread. ;0)

Yeah.

Jimmah must be so proud.
Viva La Free Honduras..!
Can you imagine a tiny country trying to stay free when the Dear Leader of the free world and its “Statist Dept” try to sabotage their efforts? Just unbelievable...and so praiseworthy of the Hondurans.
Thanks to your son for his service to our country!
I am SO proud this morning of the Great Honduran People rising up and giving the collective middle finger to Castro, Chavez, Zelaya, Evo, Daniel, Mel and BARACK--despite international socialist isolation. They will come out of this very good, I am sure. No thanks to the NYT, WashPost, CNN and LA Times who keep calling the legal removal of Mel Zelaya last summer as a coup d' etat(sic).
PS if a red leftist party on the ballot won this election today--such as Party of Democratic Unification, oh why I bet all those socialist countries in Latin American and Jimmy Carter would suddenly say "oh, yes, but of COURSE! we recognize the Honduran elections today...." lol
I wish I could locate that photo.
There were also good anti-CNN signs in that huge rally as well.
In fact, I imagine I would be sick to my stomach to watch CNN and CNN International this morning.
It is a classic. Take THAT Barack Hussein Obama.... Hmmm mmmm MMMM!!
