"I’m torn Jim, cuz I’d also like to see Dick Cheney run."

I think that is something we'd ALL love to see!!! But with his heart condition and 2012 being 3 years away, it doesn't look good.

However, I would not be surprised if he wound up in her admin, perhaps as advisor???

Jim....

We owe you an even bigger thank that words do not do it justice when we say thank you, here is why.....

When she was elected what some 3 yrs ago or so, some Alaskan Freeper posted an article about her. About 10 or so responded, maybe 20. I remember saying, hey lets keep an eye on this lady, she could be material for our bench down the road.

Out to coffee w/ Conservative friends, over the next two years, they would ask what is going on, I'd tell them watch this Sarah, I was following her on FR, again AK or other posters followed her progress as well.

You have created a window for America's collective vision for a desire to mantain our Liberty, and to follow those who we choose to lead us, who share our values.

It is here the story broke as well of her flight on the day of her choosing, IIRC, another FR first, another example of how the ferver for Sarah got started and continues to burn here on FR.

This place is truly the cutting edge.

Thank you Sir.

I support Palin as being the foremost individual out there to run in 2012 with full conservative support. I have been continually let down by who the Republican party puts forth on this front time after time.

Hunter also seems like a strong conservative.

Palin/Hunter 2012 ?

My mind is by no means fully made up and I hope to see more and more strong conservative voices emerge but Sarah Palin so far is someone who Americans can trust to be an American first (limited government, traditional values) and a politician second (big federal government, socialist values).

I also believe that Sarah will actually Fight for these principles and not just pay lip service to them. That is probally the biggest reason the libs fear her. They know she will actually Fight for American conservatism.

Thanks, Jim. You have no idea how glad I am that you and FR have finally come around to my way of thinking.

Not sure how she is on global warming. She made a few statements at the beginning of the election that made me bite my tongue.

I don't hate her, I like her, but I'm just not in love with her.

If the best the GOP can offer in 2012 are the same old tired worn out liberal-moderate-centrist choices from 2008 -— Romney, Giuliani, Huckabee, Paul -— then conservatives may very well be best served by supporting someone like Sarah Palin.
As you say, “should she decide to run”.

I agree and, personally, hope she is on the ticket.
If it is one of the "others": Romney, Giuliani, Huckster, or Paul the GOP will again lose to the loser Obama.

She's definitely being tried by fire as we speak. Her heart is in the right place and her mind is also in the right place on *nearly* every issue, most especially social issues.

That said, she needs to gather a bit of "heft" and depth about her over the next few years. Despite the comparisons, she's not nearly as developed or commanding as was Reagan or Thatcher when they got elected.

Also, she is absolutely PHENOMENAL when speaking to crowds, but IMO she needs to stand up better and be more comfortable during 1-1 interviews and TV appearances. She also needs to internalize geo-political issues more than she has thus far.

There are a few years before we have to fully commit on who we're going with - a LONG time politically speaking. By then, if she's the "cream," as cream does, she'll float to the top. We should however, prepare for the possibility of someone else coming along. Though I have no idea of who that would be, sands can shift rather quickly when they want to.

Mark me down as "impressed and hopeful, but not yet fully committed."

She’s certainly someone I will support. People who say she has no experience should read her book. Maybe she has no experience in Washington, but she sure did a lot of good conservative things for Alaska.

In short, she's exactly what we the grassroots tea party patriots are looking for.

Accept no substitutes. PALIN IN 2012!

I'm a big fan of Sarah's being pro-gun, pro-defense, and for small government. This isn't the case so much in regards to her social conservatism (I lean Libertarian on those sorts of issues), but I attach much more importance to a politician's stance on economics, gun rights, and foreign policy than I do how they feel about gay rights or abortion.

Withholding support for her until she fills the final 1% of our dreams is very short sighted. Reagan even signed an amnesty bill. For promises they didnt deliver on to him, yes,, but he did sign it.
No other conservative candidate that has *any* rational chance of winning, is very far from her position. So all withholding support does, is to set up a false choice, which undermines the only candidate that is drawing Beatles crowds wherever she goes.
I hate Obamas positions 98% of the time. She flips that ratio on its head.

Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

IF she runs, I have seen no one better to support.

I don’t see anyone on the horizon either.
