Ray Hanania is a compassionate and, in fact, delightful person, with rare insight into the aspirations and failings of Palestinians and Israelis. In the eyes of many, that alone ought to disqualify him from consideration as a leader in the Holy Land.
Add to that, the fact that the acclaimed journalist also happens to be a first-generation Palestinian-American married to a Jewish woman, as well as a stand-up comedian who has appeared alongside Jewish comics, and the self-destructively polarized electorate of the Holy Land will need to expend not a whiff of thought in dismissing him out of hand.
Which all makes his candidacy for the president of Palestine, and the Mideast peace proposal that is his platform, all the more compelling. He is realistic about his chances ("No, I don't expect to win") but ....

Good article - goes well with my "Build a big wall arounf the entire middle east then fill it in mentality...
The Palistinians just want piece, no other solution will interest them and even if they did want peace outside factions would not allow it
Mail them each a top flight, handsome suicide-bomber vest that blows up as soon as they put it on.
My problem with asking Israel to give up duranam of land for Palestine is how much they have already given up - it’s 1/6th the size of Oklahoma. And they’ve essentially handed over the Sinai, West Bank, and Gaza.
Why should Israel have to give over one more acre when Arabs and Muslims already have most of the original “Mandate”?
No Israeli allowed to carry weapons, but if they want to live in Hebron, fine, they have to be given the same protection as anyone else. For every Jew living in Palestine, a Palestinian has to be allowed to live in Israel. Would “urge” Arab states to consider normalizing relations with Israel *after* a Pali state, blah blah blah...
The guy’s just another Jew-hating liar.

The Palesimians most certainly want piece: A piece of Jerusalem, a piece of Haifa, a piece of Tel Aviv...
“first-generation Palestinian-American married to a Jewish woman, as well as a stand-up comedian who has appeared alongside Jewish comics, and the self-destructively polarized electorate of the Holy Land will need to expend not a whiff of thought in dismissing him out of hand.”
Those qualifications alone will give him a whole snowball’s chance! (sigh)
There’s one huge problem with his big plan: Mutual respect. I’d have no problem at all respecting Palis. In fact, I learn something new every time I encounter one. I would like them if I could only trust them. But disrespect for the Dhimme is hard-wired into even the best of them, and belief in an international Jooo conspiracy is endemic to the rest. We can’t have mutual trust without mutual respect. And the respect will never be mutual. So let’s continue the occupation, continue to let Jooos carry guns. They are the national guard in 1957, making sure that Little Rock is peacefully integrated. Sorry, but I can’t go along with this plan, although some parts of it do have their appeals.
