There are a variety of ways to have an impact over 33 mph without deploying particular airbags. I hit a deer once doing 60 and the airbags didn't deploy.

I think it depends on the angle and the rapid decline in speed if you were sill moving, then how much a lesser speed were you going. All the new cars have computers to figure that stuff out, and sometimes the program in the computer is too smart for its own good.
At least you should have gotten some fresh venison from the road kill for all your trouble....

Absolutely. I’ve been involved with insurance auto claims for 35 years and have seen many scenarios where one would think they’d deploy but didn’t...sometimes due to the physics of the impact and other times due to a malfunction.
