WINDERMERE, Fla. -- Golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured when he hit a fire hydrant and then a tree outside of his Isleworth home early on Friday morning, officials said.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods was seriously injured and taken to Health Central Hospital. The Orange County Fire Department confirmed that a patient was taken to Health Central, but would not confirm that the patient was Woods.
Woods was driving a 2009 black Escalade, FHP said. He hit a fire hydrant outside of his home and a tree outside his neighbor's home.
FHP said the crash is still under investigation.

Actually, in physics the proper term is acceleration. It can have a positive or negative value.
The entire golf world was hit in the face with his remark as was I when I heard it. It was the MSM that made a big deal out of it, not Tiger Woods and ultimately he did comment on it by accepting Zoeller's apology. But to now demonize Woods for the delay? That's just more crap from the Woods hating community.
Just curious, why is there no mention here of the statement by Kelly Tilghman that "young players who wanted to challenge Tiger Woods should lynch him in a back alley.'"
Woods came under fire by the black apologists who felt he should have been offended by that remark.
No matter what Tiger does, no matter how much society benefits from his golf stardom, there will always be the envious scumballs who are forever searching for the least indiscretions on his part in order to bring down the giant..............thats just the way it is.

Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor told The Associated Press on Friday that Elin Nordegren told officers she was in the house when she heard the accident and came outside. Saylor says officers found Woods laying in the street with his wife hovering over him.
Police say Woods hit a fire hydrant and part of a tree early Friday. Saylor says Woods was in and out of consciousness when his officers arrived.

Woods is not a bad guy. He refuses to let the black racists use him, and he seems to conduct his life with dignity. I wish him the best.

Stop drinking the Kool Aid dude. How does society “benefit from his golf stardom?” You sound like an Obama Kool Aid drinker. Tiger does have his foundation which is great and good for him though foundations are often done for tax purposes.
Great ambassador for golf in places like China? Guess you missed the Shanghai tourney a few weeks ago where Phil won and was getting cheers from the Chinese fans beforehand because he spent time with the crowd, signed autographs, etc. Tiger meanwhile was spraying shots all over the course and into the water.
The media goes mental over him like there are no other golfers out there playing against him. He loses to someone like Stewart Cink or Lucas Glover and the story always goes back to Tiger.
The Golf Channel (aka Disney aka ABC News) is largely unwatchable because of their endless fawning over Tiger.
I do not dislike him but his antics on the course with club throwing etc, his fawning fans and fawning media are tiresome.
