This became an issue in Fairfax County a decade or two ago. I wish I could remember how it was resolved, but there IS a creche at or near the county govt center. Maybe Santa’s nearby, but the creche is there.
Sometimes you have to wonder which Californians migrated to Washington when the economy improved; certainly not the Barstow or Orange County crowd. Apparently the phrase ‘freedom of religion’ to the aetheists means ‘freedom from religion’ based upon their protestations. They need an education on grammar and a copy of The Elements of Style by Strunk and White.
And along with the many mini-trees on the Courthouse lawn staked by local patriots erect a large banner sign posted with the names of the county officials banning the Christmas Tree display. Time to fight back and lamblast these SOB’s with public scorn and shame that they deserve...and need!
Me too and they should put them up anyway.
can you send me some info on that? Stuff like this is being collected on face book.
I seen that on Fox news!
Heres a cost effective method.....cut out old cardboard into the form of trees. Paint them green (or whatever) and stake them to the Courthouse lawn en masse. The Rodents will get the message. Hopefully a project the local TEA Party can do....
((((
I LOVE your idea!
LEESBURG, Va. - The Board of Supervisors in Loudoun County has reversed a ban on religious holiday displays on the courthouse lawn.
After a public outcry and a petition with over 1,100 signatures on it, the board overturned the Facilities and Grounds Committee, and will allow holiday displays that include a crèche, menorah and Christmas tree to return to the courthouse grounds.

Thanks for the update. That’s very good news.
