I was not at all surprised to hear that Rudy Giuliani has lately expressed views that welcome the rising prominence of Sarah Palin in the GOP. Giuliani is the archetype of the politicians who wear the Republican label but staunchly support the pro-abortion agenda. Of course, he imitates the pro-abortion Democrats by using the "pro-choice" label to dress his position in deceptively American garb. The use of that term is one of the most clever rhetorical ploys in the history of American politics. If the slaveholders had thought of it, people like me might still be doing stoop labor for no wages. After all, what could be more American than choice? Isn't that what freedom is all about?

Actually, no; not in the sense of the political liberty the American people have up to now enjoyed. Our liberty is based on the idea of unalienable rights articulated to justify our nation's assertion of independence from Great Britain. "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

Amen! While I like Sarah Palin, I have a BIG problem with the personality cult that has formed in support of her.

I agree with you 100% and see the same scary trend and don’t like it. The fact you are not free to make any comments that may not be 100% in her favor is just like the other side. That means they are not thinking.

Don’t like the fact that Sarah PAC has not filed a 3rd quarter report when everyone else I check has filed and that in the 2nd quarter they spent $260,000+ on expenses and gave $10,000 to candidates. If you cannot follow the simple rules on your PAC, then you have a problem. Just like paying so much for transportation and first class rooms for people who run Sarah PAC. People donate to PACs expecting the money to be used to fund candidates not set up a lifestyle for people in charge. I went on line to check Sarah PAC for the 3rd quarter and there was no 3rd quarter as of Monday which shocked me.

Think it is way too early to pick a candidate and try to drive away anyone not supporting that candidate when we have a 2010 election coming up that is so important in slowing down the liberal Dems. I don’t have a choice for President in 2012 — not even close — keeping my options open and only ruling out people who ran in the primary in 2008 — don’t want to see any of them run.

Why do people say that? The Romney people say it all the time, now the Dobbs people are saying it, it is silly and meaningless, it isn't a political argument of any kind.

Why don’t you read up on Palin’s stand on pro-life in the state of Alaska before commenting. I know I researched it before posting. I come from a very pro-life state and if a Republican Governor who we will soon have had said what she did, the whole State would have blown up.

Before I posted I did a quick research on her comments as AK Governor on pro-life/pro-choice and personally I don’t believe it should be up to a vote of the people like a referendum as we are talking about a baby’s life.

That makes at least three of us and know there are more from some of my freeper mails. Most of us don’t understand the personality cult that wants to cut us off at the knees if we don’t agree 100% — think it was last week if you were not for Sarah the person wanted to ban our posts.

That was my complaint about Obama people and their following him no matter what. I have never blindly followed a politician and will continue to think for myself and continue to research politicians.

No, it is meaningless on a conservative forum to say blank would be better than Obama, you might as well argue over at DU that blank would at least be better than Reagan.

I just want to win elections in 2010 which I consider so important to stop Obama. Locally I am working to send Dr. Tom back to DC as our other Senator and Mary Fallin as the next Governor of Oklahoma along with some down ticket statewide races.

We have a chance to have a fantastic young conservative Lt Governor who loves to sell Oklahoma, Sen Todd Lamb. I was at his announcement and was so impressed with this young man and what he wants to do for Oklahoma. He is a one-man Chamber of Commerce and very conservative — exactly what is needed in Oklahoma as our Lt Governor.

I don’t have a candidate for 2012 as I will start taking a look after getting through 2010 and with great hope taking back the House and making the Senate a lot closer.

Only people I have ruled out are the ones that ran in the 2008 primaries — none of them need to run.

I have not ruled Palin in or out. I do have some questions that need answered but right now that is not my primary focus — electing good conservatives like our Senators Inhofe and Coburn is my aim today.

The Constitution states as its own ultimate purpose "to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves AND OUR POSTERITY," and says that "no person shall be deprived of life" without a fair trial. It also requires that each state provide for the equal protection of the laws to ALL persons.

I think that Sarah is opposed to abortion, but feels that it should be the states that end it. She tends to be libertarian influenced, which means that she probably feels that the Federal gov should be involved only when necessary.
