They are a distraction. They cause pointless fights that waste our time. The world is a very big place, even the online world. There is plenty of room for a niche where true Conservatives can gather and discuss Conservatism without having to waste time on defending every word that comes out of their keyboard.
Diluting the Conservative message on this site is the express goal of those who oppose our Conservative views. They are, by definition, breaking forum rules *if* they are here to debate Conservative principles in and of themselves, somehow thinking they can divert us or change our minds and decide that socialism lite is A-OK. They are therefore subject to zotting.
Them's the rules. JimRob is just reminding us all of that.
“Them’s the rules. JimRob is just reminding us all of that.”
Yup. And I suppose that this is one of those distracting fights. So perhaps I should be banned. I’m not daring Jim Robinson. I’m merely calling the question.
If the point of his post is to announce a new, stricter and less flexible enforcement of his longstanding rules, then he should ban me and prominently say why. I’ll move to Lucianne.com or elsewhere, and he can make clear that only conservatives are welcome here.
It’s his site and he can do what he wants. He can make whatever tradeoff he wants — a clearer conservative stream of posts or a venue for converting millions to the cause. I think he is missing a huge opportunity going for the former, but of course this is his choice, and the former is a perfectly defensible strategy.
Saying that I’m disruptive, though, is foolish. No one is forced to fight. Just skim the posts I write or ignore me altogether.
Please keep in mind that I imagine that I’m as conservative as the average poster here.
