Greenpeace Leader Admits Arctic Ice Exaggeration
BBC ^ | BBC

Posted on 11/26/2009 11:38:24 AM PST by Lokibob

Gerd Leipold, the outgoing leader of Greenpeace, admitted that his organization's recent claim that the Arctic Ice will disappear by 2030 was "a mistake." Greenpeace said in a July 15 press release that there will be an ice-free Arctic by 2030 because of global warming. BBC reporter Stephen Sackur on the "Hardtalk" program pressed Leipold until he admitted the claim was wrong.

Back to acid rain perhaps?

That's always a good one.
Of course, there's still radon, black mold, Africanized killer bees, and "homelessness" (although the scumbag Democrat newsrooms usually only bring that one up during a Republican administration).

You just KNOW there's always a looming crisis for the rats to use as an excuse to confiscate more money from working, traditional American families. What was it that sick scumbag Rahm Emanual said? “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste."

Which shows they are crazy and have no business in Congress.

...or worse, total and complete crooks in on the scam, and willing to reap the rewards of their ill gotten booty. Either way the have no business in Congress, but once the marijuana producers users and sellers vacate their cells, there will be adequate room for the congressional contingent. Throw away the keys, and let them rot in the hell they produced.

Why did you post this as coming from the BBC?

Looks like another news outlet altogether.

"Global warming" was a scam all along. And now it is... settled.

Which is politically correct, "settled scam" or "settled farce"?

Google “Survival In The High North” for a definitive film (now on Internet) about how GreenPeace went from a couple of whacko cases in a garret in Norway to 4.5 megabucks in one year.

The short answer is fraud. The white harp seal bit is a recycled animal rights nutter film and was known to be a fraud when GreenPeace bought it and released it as new and true.

The state run media went along, and GreenPeace became a player.

Next time you see a newsie, yell “Presstitute! Commie Presstitute!” at the bachelor’s child.

Interesting...Gerd doesn’t even rank high enough for a wikipedia entry (so much for Green Peace’s importance). Well, anyway, if he recants, let him do the penance. Oh, and declare Green Peace a terrorist organisation and hunt the dogs down. (One can wish after all, right?)

The polar ice cap can’t raise sea level since it is already in the sea. The argument is based on the belief that if the polar ice cap melted, land based glaciers would also melt. The glaciers on Greenland would cause a sea level increase of several feet if this happened.

The argument fails for two reasons.

First, the glaciers aren’t melting. Studies of glaciers indicate that some are getting bigger and some are getting smaller.

Second, if the glaciers melted, the sea level would rise over populated coastal areas, but unpopulated frigid areas would become habitable. Alaska, Greenland, Northern Canada, and Siberia are vast expanses of land that would be habitable if not for the ice sheets.

While we’re at it, global warming liars (formerly alarmists) claim that the increase in temperature would result in more tropical cyclones and more storms with tornadic activity in the United States. Then they claim that global warming will cause droughts. Of course, it can’t happen both ways. If there is more rain, there will be fewer droughts. Increased rainfall also suggests that deserts would receive more precipitation, which would make the land usable.
