WASHINGTON - Crashing a state dinner at the White House apparently takes a security breakdown as well as some kind of nerve.
The Secret Service is looking into its own security procedures after determining that a Virginia couple, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, managed to slip into Tuesday night's state dinner at the White House even though they were not on the guest list, agency spokesman Ed Donovan said.
President Barack Obama was never in any danger because the party crashers went through the same security screening for weapons as the 300-plus people actually invited to the dinner honoring Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Donovan said.

Almost all of them have preplanned seating arrangements so the right people sit next to the right people and visa versa.
If these two stayed and ate dinner, there did they sit? ........on someone's lap?
I guess this so-called State Dinner in a tent was also buffet style, no place cards, sit wherever a guest felt like sitting.
As much as I dislike the teleprompter in chief, I want him to finish his only term without harm. The chilling thought that we would have Joe Biden as President and Nancy Pelosi as 2nd in command is just beyond comprehension.
If I am the SS detail commander, I WANT SOME BUTT and I would want it NOW. Totally unacceptable.
This incident fits right into the whole Obama thing, his administration is nothing but a bunch of teenagers, it seems only fitting that their party was crashed.
