WASHINGTON -- After 10 months in office, President Barack Obama granted his first pardon Wednesday to "Courage," a 45-pound turkey spared from the Thanksgiving table.
Accompanied by daughters Sasha and Malia, Obama stood under the North Portico of the White House to honor a holiday tradition that dates to 1947 -- receiving a bird from the National Turkey Federation.
"I'm told Presidents Eisenhower and Johnson actually ate their turkeys," Obama said. "You can't fault them for that; that's a good-looking bird."

Somebody probably whispered in Obama’s ear that the turkey had shared living quarters with a pig. Don’t want to piss off allah.
I was at the YMCA this afternoon and the TV was on to the pardoning ceremony. A guy walked into the room and said, “That turkey is guilty.” and I looked at him, smiled, and said, “I know exactly what you mean.” He simply smiled then shook his head in disgust.
I wish I could photo-shop.
We need one of Obama BOWING to the turkey.
Anyone able to and interested in photoshopping Obama bowing to the turkey?
IMHO ‘Courage” was sedated. *O* was very nervous of the bird!
Obama borrowed more money from China to send the Turkey to Disneyland.
“I’d kiss this turkey if I could, but Michelle warned me never to kiss her after kissing whitey.”
Nice language from a President.
Jive talkin. No class.
“I’m told Presidents Eisenhower and Johnson actually ate their turkeys,” Obama said. “You can’t fault them for that; that’s a good-looking bird.”
So . . . Obama believes the turkey he “pardoned” today is the same one that Eisenhower, and the Johnson, ate several decades ago?
Thank you for both excellent graphics. I hope you don’t mind if I steal for circulation email.
Obama yanking a turkey neck — so very true!
Be my guest.
Lol, longnecks anyone? Funny
