CHICAGO (AP) - The White House and Illinois Democrats said Tuesday that their bid to hold on to President Barack Obama's old Senate seat won't be easy and their difficulties aren't just because of the scandal that engulfed ousted Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
Next year is the first major election for Democrats since Blagojevich was arrested last year on federal corruption charges and removed from office. He has pleaded not guilty to charges that he tried to sell or trade Obama's Senate seat.
"No one ever said it was going to be easy. There's a dark cloud over everyone's head," said Alexi Giannoulias, Illinois' treasurer who's running for Obama's senate seat.

Never underestimate the ability of dead DEMONcrats, illegal immigrants, ACORN, mental patients, and elderly in nursing home voting via staff members to turn out 110% on election day.
Even the beaten down (politically) citizens of Ill know now what the community organizer in chief and his ilk are bringing to The USA. They reject it like a growing percentage of all Americans.

I’m sorry, BBerry problems.
AP acknowledging that the day of voter retribution is coming? Oh my.... =.=
You meant the crackberry!
Nonsense. If the Pubbies run Kirk, as it appears they are dead-set on doing, the Dims will keep the seat.
The Illinois Republicans cabal leaders are dumber than the Dims. Dumber than worm $hit.
Without a doubt! Happy Thanksgiving!

Giannoulias is the Outfit’s banker. When he was running for IL Treasurer, the stink on him was so bad that even the Chicago Democratic organization would not back him.
Think about that.
Who legitimized his candidacy? The newly-elected junior senator, Barakc Obama. Not only had Giannoulias never held elective office before he ran for Treasurer, he had never even voted. But Mr. Hopenchange took care of all that.
Heh heh. I love Chicago politics.
