White House Argula On the Menu (Zero's First State Dinner)
Weekly Standard ^ | November 24, 2009 | Mary Katherine Ham

Posted on 11/24/2009 12:57:59 PM PST by C19fan

I bring you the State Dinner menu. First item:

Potato and Eggplant Salad White House Arugula with onion seed vinaigrette 2008 sauvignon blanc, Modus Oprendi, Napa Valley, California

Perhaps the price at Whole Foods is no longer an issue because they're growing it in the garden?

“Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula?” the senator said. “I mean, they’re charging a lot of money for this stuff.”

To be totally honest I have no idea what argula even is

Well friend, you are not alone and what's more while I HATE fast foods and hardly ever eat them, if I was served this menu, I think I would excuse myself and head for the closest Mickey D's.

Like a lettuce that actually has some flavor, great on a lot of things. It is kind of expensive, not not in the extreme.

Not one good old American piece of meat or even chicken on the menu. How many of the attendees will rush out to McDonald’s afterwards? :)

Aw, come on. Say what you will about His Excellency Al-Hashish Field Marshmallow Dr. Barack Obama Dada, COD, RIP, LSMFT, Would-Be Life President of the Republic Formerly Known as the United States, and Chairman of the Organisation of Halfrican Unity, at least the man knows fine food.

Maybe I'd have added the option of lobster fra diavolo or chicken cordon bleu (with thigh meat, if you please, whenever I see chicken breast on a menu I think about offering the chef an irrigation line), but I'm not going to complain about a president who serves up a menu that succulent even if he is a menace to what's left of the Republic otherwise.

How many acres of Argula do they need to serve 400 guests? My guess is that the “home grown” angle is utter dim feelgood BS.

Why would You suggest that OBOZO and Mrs. OBOZO NOT have Pork Chops or Smoked Ham? Dont You know that they claim they are Christians and NOT MUSLIMS!!!! Hmmmmmm! It is True that No MUSLIM Leader has denounced OBOZO for allegedly converting to Christianity from ISLAM!! That is highly unusual!! and then Louis Farakkahan declared that OBOZO was the “PROPHET FROM ALLAH” for His Nation of ISLAM!!
But I am still sure the only reason the OBOZO’S are having WAGYU BEEF is because its THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING THEY COULD FIND FOR THE MENU TO CHARGE THE TAXPAYERS OF AMERICA!

I criticize Zero for a lot, but I think a formal state dinner should be first class. And he is entertaining a strict vegetarian. Looks like if you want a protein it's going to be prawns.

Aren’t lentils a source of protein? Also, if olive oil is used in the prep, I think it also serves the purpose.

"Why is this even a issue? I mean yes I’d prefer for the President to eat less expensive foods but this is no different from any other past administration.

Oh, yes it is.

Don't you have to get ready for this evening?
