President Obama will next week announce a surge of at least 25,000 new US troops to Afghanistan in a speech to the nation, according to US officials today.

Mr Obama will make the announcement in an address on Tuesday, December 1, after weeks of deliberations over his Afghan strategy and a tenth session with his war council in the White House on Monday night.

The final session was dominated by an issue that has been the focus of Mr Obama’s thinking in recent weeks: how to get US troops out of Afghanistan. The exit strategy for the US military has been as important an element of the strategy review as how many additional troops to send.

“It’s not just how we get people there, but what’s the strategy for getting them out,” said Robert Gibbs, Mr Obama’s spokesman.

OK, so we have one report saying 34,000. This one says 25,000. Maybe we should start a pool up.

Hahahaha. Is this another trial balloon? Who’s going under the bus for the leak? In other words, are they leaking more than one trial baloon?

Even the leakers don’t know what the Administration is doing. And they’re in it.

At first glance, it looks like 0Dumbo’s strategy is to give enough troops so he can’t be accused of doing nothing, but not supplying enough for us to win. All the while dragging his feet, delaying, and setting deadlines, so the Tailban only has to wait to win. It is what I expect from a muslim who hates America!

This is to turn the conversation away from Health Care...and give them time to break a few legs (Chicago Style).

Suppose one of those old Senate birds dies. This could change in an instant!!

As always with Obama’s thuggery machine, it’s deception, for headlines.

Whatever the number, it’s going to be spread out over 2 1/2 years...

Not a surge, a trickle.

Won’t ensure victory, but makes headlines.

This administration has elected to conduct its Afghanistan business via leaks and rumors. Strengthen the resolve of our enemy. Time may be the greatest enemy. It continues to dither. While pessimism like a cancer grows within public opinion at home and abroad, among allies and potential allies alike.

“Better for men’s families to live as reluctant allies to a dominant Taliban than to die gruesome deaths as their traitors.”

This administration can ramble on all it wants about the government in Kabul. That’s a rather easy task and a large stationary target. But the key to - dare say - winning is security for the people.

No trust, no dice.

The absence of trust among Afghans will cost us life and limb of sailors, soldiers, airmen and Marines on a muddled battlefield.

The absence of trust among Americans will cost every Commander In Chief his next election.

Oooh, he's so dreamy and...decisive!

The state-controlled media will now deluge us in statements and images to the effect that Patton was a wimp compared to His Royal Leftardedness.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

IT is almost as if he wants soldiers to die and he’s intentionally poking us in the eye with a stick.

So these troops are coming from where? Will we draw down 25,000 or 34,000 or whatever the amount really is from Iraq and send them to Afghanistan? Or will this be 34,000 in addition to maintaing the numbers already deployed? If it’s the later then it will only mean more time deployed and less time in the states for the Army and Marines.
