Guess who's NOT coming to dinner? (Obama's first state dinner)
Fox News and Washington TImes ^ | 11/24/09 | Washington Times

While the White House is mum about the 300 or so lucky invitees to President Obama's first state dinner tonight, top Republican lawmakers apparently didn't make the A-list.

Among others, the president didn't invite his 2008 campaign rival, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, even though Obama the candidate pledged a post-partisan presidency.

...

Most senators will be back in their home states during the holiday break, and few Republicans want to return to Washington for a party packed with Democrats. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell received an invitation but decided to skip the dinner.

Some top Democrats also found themselves out of the loop. Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska, who turned out to be a pivotal player in Saturday's health care vote, didn't rate an invitation. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus of Montana, who wrote the first draft of the bill, also didn't get the vaunted engraved invitation to the black-tie dinner.

Sen. Joe Lieberman, a Democrat turned independent who will be crucial to the fate of health care reform, won't be attending the dinner. He prefers to stay in Connecticut.

In the company of this putz & his gang of embezzlers is the last place I'd want to spend Thanksgiving.

they really need to tone down these fancy dinners. Cost too much when the government is going bankrupt. That be liking Goldman Sach lavishing themselves with a dinner party after they got bailed out

Not sure whether this counts, but evidently (reported by Fox & Friends this morning), Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana is on the list.

I’m thinking that is his token Republican.

“Guess who’s NOT coming to dinner?”

My 1st guess would be “the jews”?

More like the ZerØ list.

Looks like little bammy did not want that many "thanks, but no thanks" from the guest list...

To the Washington Republicans: See what playing nicey-nice with the Democrats gets you. They don't want to get along, they want you to grovel to them.

The next time you are in charge, don't play nice -- act as if you actually want to honor your campaign promises, the Constitution, and the people who elected you.

Democrats these days never miss an opportunity to act like the mean, petty partisans they are. That’s why “reaching out” to them never works, a lesson long lost on the GOP, which still seeks common ground with common thugs.

It probably has something to do with the windfall bribe Mary Landrieu just got for her health care vote.

He’ll go, I’m sure.

As for me, I hope my car doesn’t “mistakenly” go into Reverse when he happens to be standing at the end of the driveway.

It would be a shame, don’t you think? I’ve never been much good with automobiles, anyway.

heh

Obama the candidate pledged a post-partisan presidency

Words, just words. The hypocracy of this administration is mind boggling.

Maybe that explains why Obama’s been jet setting around the world bowing to foreign leaders—he’s showing republicans how he expects them to behave toward him.
