George Watkins worked through the weekend on his Eagle Scout project.
His project was to place pavers that were donated as a fundraiser for the
Historical Soldiers Memorial Cemetery section at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista.
He placed more than 4,000 pavers, a job that took two days to complete with the assistance of several Scouts and adult leaders.
Wonderful job, my hats off to this young man.
That was heart warming! What a beautiful job! I love the Scouts!
That Historical Cemetery has the reburied remains of 56 Civil War and Indian War veterans 1 Civilian and two children whose original grave in Tucson were neglected, turned into a garbage dump, then paved over for a parking lot. They were found only when Tucson was going to tear up the parking lot and put in an office building. The were brought down here in a military funeral convoy escorted by State Police and PGR. They were reburied with full military honors on May 16th of this year.
It will be good to welcome another member to the Eagle Scout Club.
Scout Ping
Eagle project.
I am amazed watching Weblos come in as hopeless little scouts, and walk out as Eagles able to manage crews and projects and take on the world. In just a few short years.
That’s because Lord Baden Powell had the right plan. The Right plan for the past 100 years
