WASHINGTON (AFP) – President Barack Obama will meet with his war cabinet Monday for "possibly" the last time before deciding whether to dispatch tens of thousands more US troops to Afghanistan, an official said.
The meeting comes as Obama weighs a request from his top commander in Afghanistan for up to 40,000 more US troops to support the war effort there.
Among the top administration officials expected to attend the meeting at 8:00 pm local time (0100 GMT) are Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The meeting will be the ninth time Obama has met with his national security team as part of a review of Afghanistan strategy since August.
An administration official said it would "possibly" be the last time Obama will consult his team before announcing the new Afghanistan strategy, though he cautioned "that's not something we can say definitively."
Last week, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters that any decision on whether to boost the US troop commitment in Afghanistan would come after the Thanksgiving holiday.

You know what scares the crap out of me? (besides the obvious lack of CIC support). Robert Gates has stayed on from the prior administration and I believe he is a good man. What I am most afraid of is that he will step down sometime next year...and that the poseur in chief will appoint the traitorous John effin to that position. I really do fear for those in our armed services right now....
I also hope I am absolutely wrong about this.

Obam-uel never had any intention of increasing troop levels; they’re banking on Americans getting fed up and demanding a pullout. This gives them perfect cover for what they wanted to do in the first place.
General McChrysal's actual request was for over 50,000 additional troops. It was Obama who requested that the general reduce his request to 40,000.
Good thing the missiles weren't launched at us. Geez.
If missles were launched at us, you can guaran-damn-tee that Mr. O would go into wide open throttle response mode. He would have a sternly worded speach, a complaint email, and maybe even go double barrel buckshot with talk of... of.. economic sanctions! He’s baaaaaaad mutha that Barry O.

Surge the homosexual soldier contingent to 100%, and bring all the heteros home now.
