Lets be clear . The pubs love this jive. They allow the left to do the dirty work. Even these incompetent dopes know they will get power at some point. They will love the expanded power over us and the new billions they can carve out for their pals. It's all smoke and BS .

You bet. It's the corrupt "Two-Party Cartel" flinging the good guy - bad guy crapola, all the while selling the nation out. Just wait at the next election. The same pukes will be back in their same positions doing the same dirty work. Again, how amazing that all of these bills come down to one vote swing change.

And the Republican party wonders why it has so much dissent

They must be city republicans.

The Republican Party is more interested in rolling over for the Democrats than it is in standing up and fighting for our country. Such a party deserves to go the way of the Whigs.

Please correct me if I am wrong about the Repubs having had the option for a full bill read (all two linear feet of it).

From what I understand, all it would take is a single senator to object to the 'unanimous consent'  required to skip the reading. This is a failure of every single republican senator.

Sen. Tom Coburn had been threatening to read the entire bill. Did he back down? I wonder why he would do that.

Please don't expect moderates and liberals to join you in the fire as you burn up the GOP. They are plenty happy letting conservative burn themselves to ash.

If the Dems are all libs and the Reps are half lib, then indeed, 3/4 will burn the entire country to the ground or anything else it wants to do before anyone can do anything about it.

Dear Repubs: Here’s why. It is because you don’t know how to win a fight. Grow a pair.

If the Republicans had forced a reading of the bill, the media would have had a field day with the stunt. It would have been as self-destructive as the 1995 government shutdown. When the MSM own 80% of the population against talk radio’s 20%, you have no chance of a media coup unless the media does it to itself, e.g. Rathergate.

Maybe so. I'm still more comfortable electing RINOs over rats...but then I'm no longer a conservative. I'm an anti-rat Republican who wants to win power from the rats...something conservatives don't care about.

Uncommon wisdom for this forum.

Uncommon wisdom my a**! Both of you guys are too stupid to poor pi** out of a boot. As for you Once-ler, if you think electing RINOs will actually make this country free again, your are even dumber than you sound. RINOs will take us to the same end, that is what they want, we will still be a socialist hell hole with RINOs or with dimwits, George Bush proved that with 8 years of RINO control that turned the US to sh**.

I would suggest you get off this forum since it is for conservatives and you seem to think being a liberal is the way to go. DU needs a few new recruits, perhaps you should try there.

The Republicans decided that they wanted to go home for the Thanksgiving recess of the Senate more than they wanted to fulfill their obligations to those who elected them to serve in the Senate.

Thank you for your insulting reply that did absolutly nothing to refute my arguement. It goes a long way towards proving how strong my arguement is.

The alphabets are losing mind share to Fox. What decade did you Rip van Winkle out of?

Stunt? You think an attempt to forestall this bill would be classified a stunt? It sounds as if you are happy it made it to the floor.

Will you also classify the few GOP members that tear it apart on the floor a "stunt"?

The alphabets TOGETHER are still over 80% reach to FOX/talk radio’s less than 20%. It is a long long way yet to a tipping point.

Yes, a 30-hour delay for a reading is easily spun as a stunt when most people will hear only that opinion repeated over and over. If you can’t win substantively on the cloture votes anyway, what good is a 30-hour delay and asking for another beating in the press that will only lose you support? Republicans cannot play games for propaganda points in the media like the Democrats do - they are for better or worse confined to substance that give the press nothing to easily ridicule.

“The Republican party wonders why conservatives are so disappointed with it?”
