Senator Reid tonight:

Today we vote whether to even discuss one of the greatest issues of our generation - indeed, one of the greatest issues this body has ever face: whether this nation will finally guarantee its people the right to live free from the fear of illness and death, which can be prevented by decent health care for all.

Apparently, Sen. Reid can't wait to become a god on his own planet, but has decided that he's the one here...

but, hey, at least we no longer have to fear death!

Living completely “free” from the “fear of illness and death” indicates stupidity, not stability. This is all about the chance to continue self-destructive decisions and lifestyles (see also the entire Democrat voting bloc) without the need for personal responsibility or accountability to anyone.

"this nation will finally guarantee its people the right to live free from the fear of illness and death..."

That pretty much makes him the anti-Buddha.

“…chance to continue self-destructive decisions and lifestyles…”

How else could an irresponsible political class remain in power!

I'm still in the Woody Allen camp...I'm not afraid to die, I just don't want to be there when it happens.

guarantee its people the right to live free from the fear of illness and death, which can be prevented by decent health care for all

And how does decent health care for all prevent illness and death?

Last time I looked, nobody gets out alive.

The final vote was 60-39. All DemonCrats voted “aye;” 39 of 40 Republicans voted “nay.” Sen. Voinovich of Ohio did not vote. In my opinion, Senator Voinovich must have felt that since all the other RINOs had the courage to vote no, that he had to skip the vote rather than be the only Republican to vote yes.

Sen. Voinovitch is a do nothing, go along to get along RINO. He usually votes with Senators Collins and Snowe. He is a coward to the voters of Ohio for collecting his Senate paycheck without the courage to vote on this vital test of Obamacare.

This reminds me of FDR’s phony freedoms - freedom from fear, freedom from want, etc. There must be people out there who are gullible that they think government can actually free them from all earthly problems.

Won't it be nice knowing that "Harry the Demigod" will be sitting in Searchlight Nevada playing with himself on a full-time basis after the 2010 elections.

All that God has created MUST be passed through Washington for approval and skimming of finances.

Thank You Harry for doing God's work as a disciple.

Who will be voted as the next disciple when you lose your a$$ come the next election cycle?

Only God knows I guess.

There are MANy Obama voters who believe every word of it. If the government can take over health care then no one will get sick and no one will die.

I hate to break the news, but the death rate among humans will continues to be 100% for the foreseeable future.

The Communist Democrats politicized breast cancer and everything else under the sun decades ago. Republicans are just catching up and pointing out the truth. This blows the political cover of the Communists. So, they scream like stuck pigs. We should all laugh at Doofus Debbie.

We should politicize breast cancer and cervical cancer screening right back in their faces. As a woman, their playing games with guidelines infuriates me. I had 3 benign lumps taken out of me before I was 30. They were benign, but you don’t know for sure until they are taken out.
