I heard this theory as well but in this case we have the following facts:

Lieberman is certain to vote against ending debate on any bill that contains the public option.

Snowe is certain to vote against ending debate on the current version of the public option.

Based on those two facts above it is certain the socialists do not have the 60 votes required to end the debate and move the bill with it current version of public option for a final vote. Therefore the current bill with the public option version it contains is DEAD.

CT has Aetna in Hartford. They are big in health insurance. $31 billion in revenues and $1.4 billion in net income. Lierberman is not going to vote for a public option. If he is as close to these health insurance companies as I think he is.

A public option will kill their business. Maine used to have a big insurance company but I forget the name. Snowe and Collins I think are not going to back it.

You're naive. It is not a fact LIEberman opposes the bill. He's conning you with the same speak out of both sides of his mouth tactic he has used in the past and people fall for it every time just as you are doing now. LIEberman supports this bill all the way. He's cloaking his support with this phony claim to filibuster when he could have killed the bill with the much easier process of voting against cloture.

The current version of the bill with the public option(aka government run health care) is very much alive thanks to LIEberman's deceit.
