U.S. Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN) Incommunicado
11/21/09 | Mengerian

Sorry for the vanity post. I just phoned U.S. Senator Bayh's office to express my opposition to the so-called health care reform bill. What a coward. No one was in his office to answer the phone and his VM was full - at which point the automated system dropped my call.

They're supposed to listen to us? Sure. What a feckless coward and self serving tool.

Evan Bayh is well known to say one thing in Indiana and do the opposite in DC.

He never held any Townhalls and didn’t even return to Indiana in August.

I have emailed him and did receive a typical response that he wants the best for us sheeple.

It doesn’t take a whole lot of courage to vote no when you KNOW the majority of 60 is alrady in place.

Nonsense. They are all cowards. If the Senate is working on the weekends to steal one sixth of the US economy and tax and ration healthcare on Americans behind their backs, the very least they could do is have their staff working too.

These weekend votes are done purely out of deception because they will get less attention from the media.

Then YOU pay for it. I am not paying for people to answer phones on Saturday nights.

Talk about bizarre. It’s obvious you selectively read the information in my prior posts and repeatedly fail to understand it is the NORM TO HAVE CAPITOL HILL STAFFERS WORKING WHEN CONGRESS IS IN SESSION, REGARDLESS OF EVENINGS OR WEEKENDS.

Nonetheless, sir, you win. I concede. You are the big winner. We’re done.

She's shameful. It's a cop-out for these elected officials to not have an attentive constituent service program; moreover, let their office VM’s fill up to the point no more messages can be received.

I once knew a Senate office where staff were expected to pick up the phone no later than the third ring, including late night and Saturday sessions.

If they are in session for a vote, any vote, the staff and p.r. people should be there.........other wise it appears to be nothing more then sneaking in a law.

No winners - just losers like your stupid vanity post. Next time call during the week or perhaps you can volunteer to run his phone bank for him on weekends since its so important to you for some strange reason.

“You busted out the Bastiat.”

Thanks for the compliment. I had heard the name but had never read his works until another FReeper (raygun) linked to the state message board (Michigan) I believe,...about 1-1/2 to 2 years ago...and the tip of the hat goes to him. I have considered myself educated (public schools/college degree) but what did they teach me? I feel that all of my educators should be sued for not mentioning his name...but then again, not many spoke of our founding fathers, economics or philosophy either.
