Sorry for the vanity post. I just phoned U.S. Senator Bayh's office to express my opposition to the so-called health care reform bill. What a coward. No one was in his office to answer the phone and his VM was full - at which point the automated system dropped my call.
They're supposed to listen to us? Sure. What a feckless coward and self serving tool.
Just put his name on the list for next year.....
I don’t understand all the fuss, there’s no difference between Democrats and Republicans, is there? Oh wait, all Republicans are going to vote against the motion to move the bill. Nevermind.
I’m beginning to think that these crucial votes are held on weekends for this very purpose.
Send a fax.
Right. And because the Democrats control the Congress and the White House, there is absolutely no incentive for elected Democrats to provide any âconstituent serviceâ or listen to their constituency. It’s Miller time in DC for the Dems.
I just got off the phone with “Ma’am” Boxer’s DC office. Spoke to a staffer who said she would pass along my opposition to the health care bill, in a rather dismissive manner. When she detected my lack of enthusiasm for her course of action, she enthusiastically asked for my zip code. DiFi’s DC office had a recording, asking me to call a local office, the San Diego number “allowed” me to leave a voice mail.
coward. Its Saturday night. I don’t expect staffers to be answering phones on Saturday night.

Now you know why these major votes are being schedule ON THE WEEKEND.
To make sure little people like you and me can’t bother our overlords
while they are “doing the will of the American people”.
Guffaw.
Everything about socialism is sham and affectation. 23.11, Ch23. Evil, Economic Harmonies - Frederic Bastiat 1801-1850
Witness evil.
The people that answer the phones are NOT working on Saturday nights. Who the heck works on Saturday nights FCOL?
I e-mailed him. I’m glad you are calling him.
We were away all day and I looked at the news with a feeling of dread, wondering what dirty deeds had been done as much in secret as possible.
“They’re supposed to listen to us? Sure. What a feckless coward and self serving tool.”
The Republicans and Conservatives absolutely need to stab, stab and stab some more in next year’s election and draw major blood from the dems over this. Do not let them rest! Don’t give them any breathing room over this!
How many times this year have we been pinning our slim hopes of derailing this monstrosity in so-called “moderate” dems, who, at the end of the day, sell their votes for outright bribes?
Vote their asses out of office, dammit!
He already announced his vote days ago. Where were you?
I earnestly hope you weren't calling me the coward.
What - because you insist that he hire people to man the phones on Saturday evenings? It’s the weekend. They are probably off with their families.
As I stated, I know as fact and from a decade of experience that many offices have a skeleton crew of staff assistants and legislative correspondents available to answer phones and support the senator while the Senate is in session. They cannot rely exclusively on Cloakroom personnel.
I'm not here to quibble with you or be petty. Frankly, I don't know why you made any of this an issue. I merely expect my U.S. Senators’ offices to be accessible when the floor is considering a vote, whether late at night or the weekend.
I didn’t make it an issue. You did. You called him a coward because he doesn’t have people working Saturday nights taking your calls. Bizarre. I just pointed out the obvious - most people take off on the weekends.
Rule No. 1 for a vanity - at least have some sort of point that makes logical sense.
