Friends,
What an amazing few days on the road this has been. Your spirits have been high, your faith strong and your spine unbendable. I ended my multiday book tour at The Villages with what had been billed as a rally but could be better described as a candid citizen-to-citizen chat.
Today, I have stopped looking for a leader to show us the way out because I have come to realize that the only one who can truly save our country...is us. To change America's course we need to change ourselves, our expectations and our willingness to accept the unacceptable.
When we refuse to allow our children to receive a trophy for participation, we are on the road to restoring the meaning of merit in our Republic. When we insist that no one is too big to fail, we will be able to learn from our mistakes, and when we demand that we are self-reliant, we will ensure that others can rely on us, not the government.
There is much to do, much to learn and time is of the essence. While I will be explaining the entire Plan over the coming weeks and months, I did want to give you a preview of some of the highlights:- Education is key, and not just for our children. To that end, we will be conducting a series of conventions. These will be full-day experiences where you will be immersed in learning about topics ranging from self-reliance, community organizing, the economy and how to be a political force in your own neighborhood and country.
The first one will be in Orlando at UCF Arena on March 27th. You will also be able to vote to have a convention in your region by clicking here.
- I have begun meeting with some of the best minds in the country that believe in limited government, maximum freedom and the values of our Founders. I am developing a 100 year plan.
I know that the bipartisan corruption in Washington that has brought us to this brink and it will not be defeated easily. It will require unconventional thinking and a radical plan to restore our nation to the maximum freedoms we were supposed to have been protecting, using only the battlefield of ideas.
- All of the above will culminate in The Plan, a book that will provide specific policies, principles and, most importantly, action steps that each of us can take to play a role in this Refounding.
- On August 28, 2010, I ask you, your family and neighbors to join me at the feet of Abraham Lincoln on the National Mall for the unveiling of The Plan and the birthday of a new national movement to restore our great country.
Only problem with term limits is that a bad house rep would than become an even worse Senator, but then that's why we have elections to sort all that out.
Fortunately or unfortunately people always get the govt. they vote for.
This will only result in electing more Dimocrats.
I'm getting very suspicious of him.
Oh, shut up!
We must fight the RINO tooth and nail for control of the party. Fight them in primaries and even elections.
Losing, in places like NY 23 are better then electing a DABLO like Dede. Dede who would of voted with the Dems more then with the Reps while the GOP would of wasted time and effort supporting her.
But we also need to be careful to not throw out the baby with the bathwater. There are a lot of good people in the GOP. Palin, Bachmann, Wilson, Pence, Hunter, Wilson, Coburn, Inhofe, Klein, Sessions etc. We need to send them reinforcements, not make their job harder.
RIGHT on the money. Glad someone is finally saying it.
I know we’re going to be demonized always by the jackals in the media, the 100 year plan thing just seemed to be a little over the top, that’s all I’m saying.
I’m a Glenn Beck fan, I wish we had someone like him on every night on CBS, NBC and ABC. I won’t shirk from defending him, we need many more Glenn Becks on the air calling the socialists out for what they are. He’s got twice the stones as most of our other conservative leaders.
That being said, the only hope I see are private schools. Govt. schools are lost, hopefully not forever, but for the time being.
You know what? At this point, there is nothing, but nothing, that will make the hard left relent except for a vocal and visible return to our founding principles. The hard left ideologues are what and who they are, and it’s a doomed effort to try any kind of appeasement.
Beck’s got it right in his focus: Know what you believe, hold to the truth, be unafraid. Waiting for the hard left to issue some sort of approval is a useless, unnecessary effort. Like the O admin, Pelosi and Reid, they’re playing their own game with their own goals that are not compatible with the founders’ goals.
Look at what happened with Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin (bag of meat, anyone?), Michelle Bachmann, President Bush... name any conservative leader. No matter what they say or do, they’ll be trashed and belittled. The hard left’s approval should not matter, does not matter. It’s like waiting for the approval of an abusive spouse or parent. It’s not worth anything. If they want to change their point of view, actions and words, that’s different.
The Left doesn’t care what anyone to the right of them thinks of them. They focus and move on.
It’s time we focus on our goals and move forward.
“Beck’s take on the two party system is more candidate over party”
Exactly. Republicans treat conservatives like red-headed step kids and take their support for granted. Rationalize all you want but the GOP (McCain, Giuliani, Romney, the Bush’s, Steele, Lugar, et al.) hold us in the same contempt the lefties do for “clinging” to God, guns and country: Look at the way they’re treating Gov. Palin now. She’s still getting the same disrespect from McCain & Co. that she gets from Democrats.
But organizing Democrats is easy: it’s as easy as training Germans to make machineguns. Weaklings want to be told what to do. Organizing “rogue” Republicans, however, is like trying to herd cats, since a group which clings to freedom, (as well) has as many leaders as it has members.
There are still many here who say “punch or touch the name with the `R’ after it, regardless... .” We’ve seen where that got us so pardon my French, but screw that.
BINGO!
His shows are so good people tune in and expect something "new and biting" all the time(tough to deliver on every show I know--it wears you out something fierce) and when they don't get it some are disappointed.
So far he has been able to deliver. As you say however, he is not in Rush's league.
But, he does come across as sincere, compelling, well researched, charismatic and of course most don't realize but 50% of the Glen Beck radio appeal, at least, is his voice. He has a great voice.
Hide your women and children... The Mormans are coming! The Mormans are coming!
Absolutely, great stuff John.
I just don't like to see anyone looking at anyone as some kind of idol. These Freepers remind me of a crazed teen age girl at a rock concert.
As long as it does not mean voting for a Dem I agree.
31 years and counting....
I was thinking about that today ... his ADD
(attention deficit disorder) really gets his
mojo working ... in many different directions.
I don’t think a ‘regular’ person could do all
he does.
I think he has a solid staff to execute his
ideas, and he definitely needs that, and he
also has very credible guests and colleagues.
But he himself overflows with ideas and brilliant
and unique ways of connecting the dots ... and
we’ve just not had that before and we NEED it.
We’ve been slimed, fooled, lied to and spun by
the lamestreams for enough decades.
Just his sheer popularity and ratings show that
he’s captured the attention of millions who never
were tuned into politics before. That’s huge.
So, God bless and protect him.
There are many bricks on the path to our goals.
