This sounds like BS. I will believe it when I see proof.
As for Apple being liberal, it sure is. Do you use Microsoft products? Do you somehow think they are different at MS? I am sure there have been hundreds of millions of grants from Microsoft over the years to liberal causes and organizations that would make you blanch.
And the Consumerist? The one owned by Consumers Union that also owns Greenerchoices with all their global warming BS and the same ones that voted Halliburton to be the worst companyin the USA back in 2007?
Are those the people you really want to come on to Free Republic and advocate for as a reliable source?
Just sayin, jessduntno.
Shouldn’t be too hard to disprove. Help yourself:
I took my mid 2007 apple macbook (black) into the Jordan Creek Apple Store in West Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday, April 25th, because I had been experiencing some issues with it overheating, and figured the fan was bad. After some initial testing, they took the computer in for work under my Applecare plan, which has over a year remaining on it.
Today, April, 28, 2008, the Apple store called and informed me that due to the computer having been used in a house where there was smoking, that has voided the warranty and they refuse to work on the machine, due to “health risks of second hand smoke”.
I see no reason to doubt it.
But then, I don’t own APL or have an axe to grind either way.
This sounds like BS. I will believe it when I see proof.
It might very well be B.S. -- as is being described. However, it should be that way that the smokers who spew out the foul and dirty habit of theirs and "foul their own nest" in all that they do around themselves -- should pay for anything that they mess up like that with their dirty habit.
I'm all for it. Let them buy another computer when they mess it up from their dirty habit.
