GAY ACTIVISTS BULLY D.C. PRIESTS

November 20, 2009

Catholic League president Bill Donohue addresses a serious issue involving gay activists in the District of Columbia:

A new homosexual website, ChurchOuting.org, is intent on publicly disclosing who the gay priests are in the Archdiocese of Washington. The goal of this outing is to intimidate gay priests, as well as heterosexual priests who may be “romantically involved,” into voicing objections to the Catholic Church’s opposition to gay marriage.

This initiative is the work of Phil Attey, self-described as “Liberal-Gay-Ardent Obama Supporter”; he was active in the Obama Pride Metro-DC campaign. According to one news report, “Attey is going to approach priests he thinks are gay, and warn them that they better stop lobbying against gay people, seeing how gay they are…or…else?”

Catholic priests are also being pressured to sign the “Declaration of Religious Support for Marriage Equality,” a statement by Clergy United for Marriage Equality. The statement, while it is not one we support, is respectfully written. Accordingly, we will write to members of the Steering Committee of this group asking them to dissociate themselves from this attempted hijacking of their effort.

The Catholic League is prepared to assist any priest in the Archdiocese of Washington who is the victim of harassment, intimidation or stalking. Whatever resources the priest needs, we will see to it that he is served. If radical gay activists want a showdown with the Catholic League, we will not disappoint them.

Who is like unto God?........ Lk:10:18:
And he said to them: I saw Satan like lightning falling from heaven.

God forgive me, though I certainly don’t deserve it, but it is just so easy to loathe those people!

Communists use the same tactics of intimidation.
Isn’t that special?

The gays will lose in the long run because the Church is waking up.

Correct me if I am wrong, please. If a priest is living in accordance to the Teachings of the Church, how could this group have any leverage at all?

I've actually posted questions on this verse on FR not that long ago. I find that this is a great place to do some informal Bible studies. But the way I have come to read that passage is that Jesus knew full well that His followers would be subject to persecution to the point that even our lives might be in danger.

Jesus of course never tells us to go and attack and kill other people, so I conclude that Jesus has no problem with us taking reasonable defensive measures, specifically, keeping and bearing arms, to protect ourselves from those who wish to do us harm. I also believe that this passage is literally the genesis (pardon the pun) of our God-given (quite literally) Second Amendment rights.

With this in mind, any church that sees its work disrupted by anyone should have no qualms about fighting back to ensure that it can still do its good work without having to be hassled by thugs.

There is no more intolerant, narrow minded group that militant gays. They will not allow dissent, civil discourse, anything that works against their interests. Yet they are a favored political class and anything is allowed on their behalf.

Later in the chapter, Jesus tells them to put the sword away and heals the person with severed ear.

That's because St. Peter, with the best of intentions, was interfering with the road to Calvary.

Christ told him to put it away, not throw it away. He was just using it for the wrong reason.

Correct.. That’s exactly how my LASB breaks down the passage.

Indeed. I bring up the passage I mentioned because far too many people seem to have this mistaken belief that Jesus is like Gandhi. While Jesus always advocated for a peaceful delivery of His message, there were many times in the New Testament where He literally lays down the law in a very direct and abrasive manner.

We Christians have a right to protect ourselves from those who wish to disrupt us from worshiping in our churches. If Christians constantly took the pacifist approach, the faith would not have lasted as long as it has.

Gay activists demonstrate some of the most insidious and blatant evil against others in this society. We MUST pray for them, for their repentance and redemption.
