No Charges in Greenway Murder (Minneapolis Armed Citizen!)

Robbery victim won't be charged.

Prosecutors have decided not to file charges against the man accused of killing 18-year old Tim Jackson, saying he was acting in self-defense.

Investigators say Jackson and another man tried to rob a man identified as P.W. as he walked in the Midtown Greenway near 28th Ave. and Hiawatha in Minneapolis. P.W. told police he stabbed Jackson in the stomach as Jackson tried to hit him in the head.

"Minnesota law is pretty clear, folks are entitled to walk in the streets, if someone assualts you, you have a right to respond with reasonable force" said Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman.

Jackson's family believes the only crime Tim commited was hanging with the wrong crowd. Jackson's sister Alicia disagrees with the decision and says her brother paid the ultimate price. "It really hurt that they are not going to prosecute him even though they should do something to him for taking a life."

Blame the victim. Typical.

Way to go, P.W....!!

“No Charges in Greenway Murder”

If the killing was self-defense, what’s with use of the word “murder”?

Homocide would be the correct word to use.

Hanging with the wrong crowd often has unfortunate consequences. That's why they're the "wrong crowd."

I am really impressed with this statement, on record even, from Freeman. We don't have the "Castle law" here yet and his words seem to almost be calling for it. I would have expected something along the lines of "...duty to retreat to safety, blah, blah..... best to give in to the attacker and beg ... "

Don’t walk the streets without being armed. Don’t walk the trails without being armed. Way to go P.W. The thugs, scum, rapists, murderers are feeling bold.

Freeman is sort of an enigma...Sometimes he comes out as Mr. Law And Order....and then he wants to prosecute jaywalkers.....

I agree, justifiable homicide. BTW if he had used a gun it would have gone down statistically as a gun killing. They count self defense too in their propaganda.

I only used my bare hands a few weeks ago on 2 attackers that thought that my white girlfriend was a “complaining racist” when she talked to the bus driver about their 120 decibel rap “music” they were playing in the back of the 5 Route (Or as I like to call it, “El Cinco de la Muerte”). The attackers soon found out what happened when you try to test the patience of somebody with a black belt.

Yeah. Fight back against these thugs with any resistence and they’ll buckle like the cowards they are, even if it’s with your hands.

Sounds like what Rudy did in NYC.

His philosophy was crack down on the little things and the big things will take care of themselves.

It worked.

I remember reading your post a couple of weeks ago about the bus encounter. That number 5 rolls through some rough neighborhoods as your nickname for it suggests. I’m glad everything worked out alright!
