US admiral defends Obama's Japan bow (AFP) 1 day ago
WASHINGTON The former top commander of US troops in Asia on Thursday strongly defended President Barack Obama against critics of his bow to Japan's Emperor Akihito, calling it a gesture of respect.
Admiral Timothy Keating, who retired last month ...

Well, it is nice to see The Pentagon active these days, trying to plug holes in a dinghy that is unmercifully sinking in the ocean-- Barack Hussein Obama's Administration, using retired U.S. admirals. Hmmm mmmm MMMM! I believe we have the photo of Commander of US Forces Pacific greeting Emperor Akihito and it was no kind of "bow" at all--not to mention a stream of world leaders knowing protocol and each apparantly proud of their nation they represent.
Seems like Rahm and David and Valerie want to resurrect this issue for "damage control" now that they are back in D.C. after the Asia fiasco whirlwind.
That's fine. There stil might be a segment of Americans who say "what bow in Tokyo??", and when they see the photo without comment, fully 70 to 80% are liable to break HARD against the President.
How can such an imbecile rise to such a high level in the US Navy?
Followed the Wesley Clark School of Bowing and Scraping, no doubt.
Ridiculous.
Many Americans travel to Japan and check on the Government sight how to behave in Japan. I knew no bowing 10 year’s ago, everyone knows if they check any travel book.
I completely agree! We even smell good when roasted.
If we lose the Military...which signs point to yes...we are F’ed
The new political litmus test.
At a lunch Friday with China's navy chief, Vice Admiral Wu Shengli, Admiral Keating stressed the difficulty and complexity of developing, building and operating an aircraft carrier. But at his news conference Saturday Keating said the United States would be willing to help if that is what China decides to do.Given that Keating's posture is permanently set to low grovel, I'm not surprised he said this."It is not an area where we would want any tension to arise unnecessarily," he added. "And we would, if they choose to develop [an aircraft carrier program] help them to the degree that they seek and the degree that we're capable, in developing their programs."
If true, why then didn’t the Emperor return the bow?
Doesn’t he respect Obama?
... will soon appear as a "military consultant" on the 0bama cable networks. That will in turn get him well-paying speaking gigs from 0bama-friendly groups to supplement his pension. It worked that way with military lackeys in the Clinton era, too.
The old goat is looking for a job with Jim Jones. Not a serious problem, just politics.
By being very good at kissing you know what!
Forty seven visits by heads of state, forty six handshakes, one bow ....
Cover for bowing to a Saudi king. I mean he bows a lot, not just to his religious master.
Adm. Crowe endorsed Clinton prior to the election and was named Ambassador to the UK, funny how that works. Adm Keating is looking for something similar.
I wonder if the admiral knows the meaning of the word, "seppuku?"
5.56mm
I'll bet he's a big proponent of Diver City in the military too.
