Sneaking In Amnesty

Immigration: For illegal immigrants, the good times are back. Workplace raids have been halved, and easily fudged paperwork audits are up. Make no mistake, this is a politically driven precursor to amnesty.

How times change. In 2007, an outraged public made itself heard to politicians by saying "enough" to policies that produced 12 million illegals in the U.S.

It sank the bipartisan 2007 immigration bill, dismissing it as "amnesty," and demanded enforcement of the law.

The result rocked the country. Arrests picked up, and President Bush took on the politically tough task of telling immigrants that reform was off the table until Americans were convinced that immigration laws meant something.

That resolve has crumbled since the 2008 election. Justice Department data show criminal arrests of illegals down 60% in fiscal 2009 to a mere 443 from 1,103 a year ago. Administrative arrests have fallen 68% — to 1,644 from 5,184 — while indictments are down 58% and convictions 63%.

It may be true that illegal immigration from Mexico is peaking, as a recent University of California, Davis, study suggests. It's also true that the U.S. recession has sent many illegals packing.

But the sharp decline in numbers in a single year is stronger than incremental demographics or economics. It signals a policy shift.

Well, let me tell that illegal Mexicans are thick here in South Carolina. Over on Whitehourse Road near Greenville it looks like little Mexico. On weekends, you can buy every possible ingredient to make a Mexican dish. Not complaining. I like buying red peppers three for a buck.

Anyway...the reason why South Carolina has double-digit unemployment is because the crookled rats at the employment division allow illegal mexicans to collect unemployment.

Without the Mexicans, South Carolina would have 5% unemployment.

BTW, the RINOS here support the illegals,

How times change. In 2007, an outraged public made itself heard to politicians by saying "enough" to policies that produced 12 million illegals in the U.S.

But the public failed to follow through and vote a bunch of the pro-amnesty scoundrels out of office. That was a serious mistake, and a reason why all the public efforts to stop Obamacare might not succeed. They are now calculating whether they can ignore this public outcry and pay no price as in 2006 and 2007. And amnesty will be back later for another go.

A large number of them must be voted out in 2010 or the public might as well quieten down and just let their betters make all the decisions for them.

IMHO, the border should have been sealed shut on September 12, 2001.

I have read reports that there are now over 30 million illegals in our country - and not all are from Mexico.

Illegals are filing suits against citizens of America, and winning - with big bucks (and often large properties.) It is disgusting that it is even being 'considered', let alone being 'allowed'. (Not to mention the rapes, child molestation, robberies, murders, domestic violence, identity theft, drunk driving, disease and filth left behind.)

When you call me - you won't have to press #1 for English!

This is what everyone is being warned about ...while others are focused on Cap and Trade, Healthcare, Afghanistan....Amnesty is quietly being pushed....once the Dems get Amnesty passed ...the new citizens will be relocated where they are needed, then the Dems will not have to be concerned about losing power and can pass anything they so desire.

If this is allowed to take place, the question has to be asked.... has our Social Contract ran out according to John Locke?

“IMHO, the border should have been sealed shut on September 12, 2001.”

Countless thousands of American lives would have been saved if that had happened. And that day, I was afraid the government might come down too hard on ‘foreigners’.....am I naive or what???

Instead, now an alien can’t even be asked if he’s an alien, much less be charged with that crime. This morning there is another article about a woman being arrested, facing 3 years in prison for a hate crime for pulling on a Muslim’s headscarf! The world is upside down.
