~~Chicago Way .... PING!
Wonder if Baraq will fly in and join Oprah to plead for “peace in the streets”
Don’t hold your breath......
Chicago - more dangerous to Americans than Iraq and Afghanistan COMBINED!
black on black crime...one wonders if this statistic wasn’t in America, would we be deemed a violent country? I tend to think not so much....
what are the population differences between these two cities?
The positive point is...that's 400 they won't have next year.
NYC has about 8.2 Million. Chicago is about 2.9 Million.
Yeah, and wouldn’t you think the 0 and
his belted woman would get involved
with the explosive crime situation,
especially amongst the lost generation
of twisted hiphop thugs in their own
hometown .. at least for the chillun?
Well the war for Chicago is lost just get all our troops out and let go to the thugs and politicians

Thank goodness gun control is keeping people safe in Chicago. Maybe they should consider “goon control” instead....

John Kass has an idea ..

Turn Thomson prison into training camp of our own
Excerpt:
###
Don’t worry. I’ve got the perfect political compromise.
I tried it out on U.S. Rep. Don Manzullo. He’s the Illinois Republican in whose district Obama wants to ship the Gitmo Gang and lock them behind super-max walls so they won’t escape, fan out across the prairie, and kill all of us in our beds.
“I’m opposed to the terrorists coming here at all,” Manzullo told me Wednesday. “The generals tell us that Gitmo is the rallying cry for terrorist recruiting. I asked: Will that animosity transfer to Thomson? The Defense Department could not give us a guarantee.”
So I told him my plan. There was a long silence on the phone. I could hear him breathing.
*snip*
If Obama really wants the Gitmo Gang in Illinois, it’s going to happen. After all, he is the president of the United States of America.
So let’s bow low, as if he were the emperor of Japan and we’re a bunch of terrified peasants, almost touching our foreheads to the ground, without a shred of imperialistic American dignity.
OK, President Obama, you win. We’ll take the Gitmo Gang.
***But only on one condition:
In exchange, we want all the convicted American politicians currently living in cushy Club Feds to be transferred immediately to the Thomson Correctional Center so they can bunk with the terrorists and corrupt them too.***
That might benefit American interests and save us lives and treasure. Before you say I’m crazy, just think about it.
What is terrorism anyway? It is the use of violence to achieve a political goal, and one offshoot is subverting people’s confidence in their system of government.
And what of corrupt politicians? They subvert the people’s confidence in their system of government much more than the terrorists could ever dream of doing.
Political corruption corrodes almost everything, from the belief that a job application is based on qualifications and ability, to school admissions (may the kid with the best clout win), to the way business is conducted in public and private sectors.

Is a simple “Congratulations” greeting card enough?
Should I send flowers?
What sort of gift, if any, is appropriate?
Both Miss Manners and Emily Post have given this type of event short-shrift in their etiquette books, so I am at somewhat of a loss as to what I should do...
...other than stay out of Chicago.

Veteran robbed, killed on way to deposit money from benefit
###
Army veteran William “Bill” Burtner survived Vietnam and dedicated his life to helping other veterans.
On Monday, Burtner was about to enter a Midlothian bank to deposit money the south suburb’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2580 had raised during a benefit.
He never made it inside.
Burtner, 65, was assaulted and robbed outside the bank. He died Wednesday night at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
An autopsy today concluded Burtner died of hypertensive cardiovascular disease and fractured ribs from the assault, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. It ruled the death a homicide.
Burtner was about to deposit proceeds from a VFW benefit last weekend for Chicago-area World War II veterans so they could visit a war memorial in Washington, D.C., according to Katherine Foss, a family friend.
She said Burtner, who was elected as a commander for the post, was supposed to go to the VFW later in the day to help pack up belongings, such as clothing and other donations, for soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
On Monday, Burtner was entering AJ Smith Federal Savings Bank, 14757 S. Cicero Ave., when two men attacked him in a strong-arm robbery, said Midlothian Police Detective Sgt. Steve Zamiar.
Probably go down if law abiding citizens could carry guns but only criminals are allowed to:
June 2 2009 (Bloomberg) — A Chicago ordinance banning handguns and automatic weapons within city limits was upheld by a U.S. Court of Appeals panel, which rejected a challenge by the National Rifle Association.
The unanimous three-judge panel ruled today that a U.S. Supreme Court decision last year, which recognized an individual right to bear arms under the U.S. Constitutions Second Amendment, didnt apply to states and municipalities.
Why wouldn’t they want to have the Olympics there?
