Theres been virtually no change over the past two months in the hypothetical Election 2010 Senate match-up in New York State between Democratic incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand and former Governor George Pataki. Including the fact that Pataki still hasnt announced for the race.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds Gillibrand leading Pataki 45% to 42%. Seven percent (7%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent are undecided. The survey was taken Tuesday night prior to news reports that former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is planning to run against Gillibrand.

Go Rudy Go!!!
I wish that Pataki would make a choice soon. He was leading a few months ago.
DIABLOs Newt and Dede will probably bail Gillbrand out when the election rolls around.
I was shocked when I read that Rudy was a possible candidate. I don’t think he will, but I could be wrong.
It’s good news!
He would do what needs to be done vis-a-vie the WOT. And he won’t be bowing to any foreign dignitaries either. Plus, if he wants to run for POTUS again, he can’t be uber-liberal.
I was going to call New Yorkers pathetic but I live in California and we have two of the worst Senators in the history of the country. I guess slamming New York could be the pot calling the kettle black. Go Pataki.
Here’s another poll on the aforementioned race.
Rudy’s running for the seat for sure. He’s not going for governor. I imagine Pataki decided not to run. I know the two don’t like each other much, but I would think they talked it out behind the scenes before anything was made public.
There was a post here at FR earlier of a Marist poll that had Rudy over 50% and Gillibrand in the low 40’s. He has a much better shot than Pataki.
Here’s the Marist poll:

The announcement about Rudy came earlier today and is over in the breaking news. It’s from ‘sources’, but on things like that ‘sources’ are usually pretty dead on.
Pataki is going to attend a fundraising in Iowa. Pataki is more interested in a White Run than a Senate run.
We throw up another milktoast leftover?
Milktoast leftover Pataki would be the second strongest candidate after Guiliani.
