"Breaking News Story: Hadley CRU has apparently been hacked hundreds of files released 19 11 2009 The details on this are still sketchy, well probably never know what went on. But it appears that Hadley Climate Research Unit has been hacked and many many files have been released by the hacker or person unknown"
If what this following email means what I think it means, then the wheels have just come off the Global Warming movement!

Dear Ray, Mike and Malcolm,
Once Tims got a diagram here well send that either later today or
first thing tomorrow.
Ive just completed Mikes Nature trick of adding in the real temps
to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from
1961 for Keiths to hide the decline. Mikes series got the annual
land and marine values while the other two got April-Sept for NH land
N of 20N. The latter two are real for 1999, while the estimate for 1999
for NH combined is +0.44C wrt 61-90. The Global estimate for 1999 with
data through Oct is +0.35C cf. 0.57 for 1998.
Thanks for the comments, Ray.
Cheers
Phil

I would urge caution. Might be a set up.
True, but someone had to go through a great deal of fabrication for this amount of misinformation. FWIW, Steve McIntyre of ClimateAudit says all his email correspondences with these people are all correct - no alterations. He is not well liked by the folks at CRU either.
Be skeptical and judicious. This may or may not be true.
If it is, we’re going to see some fireworks.

Very interesting. As already said, we need to hold our horses on this until more experts weigh in. But there do seem to be some hints that it may be genuine. Especially the guy who says that emails he sent to them are real.
But is that guy real? We don’t know anything for sure, yet.
Here’s their website. It’s a UK website that seems to specialize in downloadable climate data (which may be rigged):
http://www.cru.uea.ac.uk/cru/data/temperature/
“That guy (Steve McIntyre)” is very real and runs Climateaudit.org
He’s one of the most despised skeptics, an excellent statistician, who has take great pains to examine the data and claims these “warmers” have been making. Please take time to visit Climateaudit.org
Traffic may be too heavy there tonight - but this guy is ligit. His work is thorough and very damaging to the likes of Mann et al.

OK. Then the question is whether he actually vouched that they were real. I don’t doubt it, but it should be nailed down.
As you suggest, the site seems to impossible to access just now.
Frankly, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to have this confirmed. These guys make a good living by lying about the climate. Support global warming and you get lots of government money and research grants. Question it and you’re on your own.
The politics of global warming seem to be even worse in England than they are here, too. Obama will have to work hard to catch up with all those years of Labour rule, although he’s certainly doing extraordinarily well.
worth following.
I saw this posted on another site. It seems too good to be true, and many are suggesting caution until its origin can be verified. But I’m sure the hot air cult will be interested.
“There is no controlling legal authority that says this was in violation of law.”
— Al Gore (...and boy, am I sorry I invented the internet.)
Bit overly optimistic! This will be a dent in their armor, and may slow them for a while, and might even shut up some of the more vocal pro-GW Congress members for a while - but the left will not let any of the schemes to gain control of our lives die so easily!!
Wishful thinking.
They have already begun spin: emails are taken “out of context” and focus on the hacker and his “crime.”
