With nearly a year until the general election, a new Rasmussen Reports poll puts GOP gubernatorial hopeful Meg Whitman and still-undeclared Democratic contender Jerry Brown locked in a tie with 41 percent support a piece.
The results show Whitman gaining traction since a September Rasmussen survey, in which Brown outpolled Whitman 44 percent to 35 percent.
Whitman's two rivals for the Republican nomination, former U.S. Rep. Tom Campbell and Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner trailed Brown in the telephone survey of 500 likely voters.
Brown came out nine-points ahead of Campbell -- 42 percent to 33 percent -- in hypothetical match-up. Brown leads Poizner by 11 points, 43 percent to 32 percent, according to the poll.

Great. Just what we need, a race between Moonbeam Jerry Brown and no-borders RINO Meg Whitman. Now there’s an inspiring choice.

Whitman might just as well be Hillary Clinton. She won’t get a vote from me.
The other potential candidates don’t do well against Brown, because they don’t have the name recognition. That would change before election day.
If they’re only ten points behind now, wow. That’s excellent.

Whitman might just as well be Hillary Clinton. Whitman is a female Schwarzenegger, at Hillary's command.

I don’t like Whitman at all but am surprised she is tied with Moonbeam!

Brown, Whitman tied in new Rasmussen poll Is there a way they could both lose?
To: SamuraiScot
Nah. California needs to go completely to the Dark Side(Democrat).
A friend of mine who left California says it needs to have a war in order to become livable again. Let the Democrats pander themselves into such a hole that they have to cut Welfare, services and union jobs. That will start the war.
Then the illegals will go home and the productive rich people can come back from Nevada.

Just think of it this way....No matter who wins, we lose.

Pardon me while I sit this one out. It’s arguable that Moonbeam will collapse CA that much sooner. Sometimes demolition is required before rebuilding. Whitman is just another monied corporate elitist RINO served up by the clueless GOP. With the implacably communist California legislature in power, she will accomplish nothing except “compromise” in the form of more spending and higher taxes. In any case, I think the state needs to be split up. The communist coast and the conservative interior are irreconcilably and unalterably opposed.

I think she has more business savvy, but then the way she has backed anti-business leftists, who knows.
Can’t argue with your overall premise.

Money talks. Besides, I think Moonbeam has a lot of negative baggage.

It’s simple: back the most viable conservative in the primary and the Republican in the general.

I have to do more research on him, but I am definitely leaning towards voting for Steve Poizner. I don’t know who else is running(?) I am so intent on seeing Palin run in 2012 that I’ve lost focus on local/state politics, even though it’s becoming incresingly vital for me to pay attention. I wonder how far ahead Meg Whitman is though—not just in money, but in all other aspects as well. *sigh* poor California.
I can’t wait till my friend currently serving in city council runs for governor one day LoL.

Watch for me on the front lines...Just tell your friend who fled to safety, there is no need to come back...He’s more than welcome to stay wherever he ran off to.
