Fox News Poll: Palin Going (Not So) Rogue
FOX News ^ | 11-19-09 | Ernie Paicopolos

As Sarah Palin blankets the media on a whirlwind book promotion tour, the former vice-presidential contender is clearly back on America's radar screen. Despite being characterized by many as a divisive force in her party and the nation, Americans are much more likely to give Palin a positive rating (47 percent favorable) than another prominent female leader -- Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (28 percent favorable). Moreover, about six in 10 Americans (61 percent) think Palin has been treated unfairly by the press, according to the latest Fox News poll.

The national telephone poll was conducted for Fox News by Opinion Dynamics Corp. among 900 registered voters from Nov. 17 to Nov. 18, 2009. For the total sample, the poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

She’s playing it smart. She knows if she announces now that the media will make her life an even bigger hell then it has already been for the next 3 years. All those cities she is traveling to on her book tour, does anyone actually believe this is a regular book tour. Look at the areas she is visiting, these are campaign stops.

C4P has that link w/Laura Ingraham.

Like you, I was definitely disappointed to hear Sarah's comment....but perhaps it was just to throw off any media critics, MAO-bama, etc.

Strategery?

There are formal regualtory reasons for folks to NOT DECLARE they’re running...rules are very strict about money, staffing, reporting, etc. One waits until the last possible moment to formally declare, if folks already know your name.

“it may be someone else”

Hehehehehe...not to worry. Lots of time between now and 2012. Besides, “may not” is a far cry from “will not”.

She's the real hope and change that American is hungry for in our government..

Somehow I believe after just reading through the 1st chapter of her book, Sarah will not be easily shaken by the elitist who are persecuting her.

Pelosi’s popularity at 28% ?
That high? I don’t believe it. Must be a negative number.

“her numbers are improving.”

better yet, Rasmussen, the most accurate pollster, has her at 51 percent favorable, BEFORE her book came out and BEFORE a single interview. FOX polls always tend to be weighted in favor of dems for some reason, always off by about 5 points during the election. So, I’d say the Rasmussen numbers are correct.

Palin gets the highest favorable ratings (70 percent) amid a group of other possible contenders for the GOP nomination, including Mike Huckabee (63 percent), Mitt Romney (60 percent) and Newt Gingrich (58 percent). Palin's favorable score among all voters is 47 percent, up nine percentage points over last July's reading of 38 percent.

The MSM is trying, and will continue trying, to paint Sarah as polarizing and divisive, disliked by independents, and popular only with the conservative base. But she has more than enough time to make her independent (of McCain) impression on the voters. The RINOS and Dims and MSM will not like the results of this survey, and she's only been back in the public eye for barely a week.

The Democrats may think twice about blasting her because all it is doing is elevating her in the eyes of the public. Virtually every liberal columnist has blasted her in the last week. These poll numbers are great and show she not so out of the main stream as the MSM would like you to think.
