It’s not just Citibank. Discover and JPM Chase, which also took TARP funds, are also hiking customer interest rates.
A better option would be to close the Citibank account, and open a new card account at a local bank that offers one. Often a lower interest rate, and likely took no bailout funds.
See? Citibank is owned by Rockefeller, and Rockefeller is one of the New World Order people controlling Obama while he ruins the United States.
What happened here is the thief (Rockefeller), who was already very wealthy, stole $300 billion from us. Satan and the flesh are never satisfied. They always want more. And more. And more.
I think they’re using most of the money to call me. It seems to have become very important that I buy their insurance, even though mine is better. We’re averaging like 3 calls a day from these pinheads.
They can’t hike interest rates on money you don’t borrow. Cut the cards, screw the miles.

Let’s see. As of today their rate paid to interest checking and savings accounts is .1% to .3% for up to $50,000.
That is “point three percent”!
They will pay special savers all the way to .5% for $50,000 to $100,000. Again that’s point five percent. That would be about $45 a month APY. Wow!
I’ve banked with my bank over 20 years. I have over $20K in an int bearing checking account, a sizable savings, a few CD’s and a small business account.
They sent me a letter out of the blue raising my credit card rate substantially. I’ve never been late and don’t carry high balances.
I marched down to the bank and closed all my accounts. They tried to keep me and asked why I’d do such a thing and I just showed them their letter. I told them I’d rather lose money than be taken advantage of.
I haven’t been hit yet, but I keep waiting. Damn them and the politicians to hell.
Regarding your Air miles: If you have Safeway grocery store in your area, check this out. Through their program. my wife has accumulated 17,527 miles. I have 19,652 miles. No charge card involved. Although, it is restricted to Alaska Airlines.
I don’t fly well and need O2 when I do, so they just build up. I might use them someday.
I pay card off each month. Twice they said I was late. When I called they canceled the late fee and tried to sell me their ‘’insurance’’.
