She was just naive. I doubt that she had ever watched much of Couric on TV back in Alaska. I sure don’t watch Couric. Perky Katie had a rep as a lightweight morning happy talk host before she got bumped up to sit in Rather’s chair.
As Alaska’s governor, I seriously doubt that insider media buzz — the stuff people who frequent the inside the beltway cacktail parties talk about — was even on Sarah Palin’s radar screen.
It was the McCain campaign’s job to prepare Palin for a tought interview, not to sell the idea to her that it would be a softball game.

First of all, I'm no McCain fan. Let's get that straight. But in my opinion, your responses would would give more evidence to the fact that she wasn't ready for prime time. We need someone who is media savvy and can clearly articulate the Conservative message. I hear the comparisons to Reagan all the time, well I got news for you Ronald Reagan was one of the most media savvy politicians ever. Anyone think the Gipper ever took anything from "trusted political advisers" at face value? If you do I would suggest you have a look at what Micheal Deaver had to say about that.
Sorry guys, her response is weak. We can sit on the sidelines and rah, rah, rah but the facts are the facts. I'm not saying she's stupid, I'm not saying she can't learn to be more savvy. What I'm saying is that she wasn't ready. Maybe she'll be ready in 2012.
