PHOENIX - Congressman John Shadegg is calling out Recovery.org.
The website explains where stimulus money has been allocated to and how it is helping the economy to rebound.
"Somebody is incompetent at best and deceitful at worst," Shadegg said.
Shadegg blasted the site for what he says is presenting false information.
According to the site more than 30 jobs have been saved or created with stimulus money in Arizona's ninth congressional district. Problem is, there is no ninth congressional district in Arizona.
"This is a government-funded website to which the congress just appropriated $18 million to tell the American people how we are spending the stimulus money well," he said, "but it shows zip codes in which millions have been spent and no jobs have been created."
Shadegg said the annual deficit has tripled under the current administration.
"The government taking more money out of the hands of American taxpayers to waste in this fashion is shocking and it ought to make some people pretty darn mad."
Mistakes were made.

Hey, how bout that ;-)

Sounds like wire fraud to me, among other crimes. after all if one takes government money to do a job, then produces fraudulent work, they are guilty of Fraud, Money Laundering, Wire Fraud, Mail Fraud... The website owners are being prosecuted right??
After a few short visits to recovery.gov, every state I clicked, has 5-10 fiction districts accounting for around $5-8 Million for each state and virtually no jobs claimed.
I didn’t realize Indiana now has 14 Congressional Districts. I wonder what they did with $1.25 million in District 00?
payoffs or glitch?
Minnesota too. Who knew we had a 13th District much less a 57th?
IMO... Someone needs to hang for this. Probably several someones.
They used to ask “Where’s Chicago?” and answer “In the USA”.
Now it’s “Where’s the USA?”.
Answer:” It moved to Chicago.”
"a completely honest bureaucratic snafu"
Chris Baker has put up some info on the KTLK website regarding Minnesota:

I imagine you were listening to him already, but thought I’d share with other freepers. :)
Please see my #11. This is going on in Minnesota too. I suspect it’s been happening nationwide. I wish freepers from every state would check recovery.org for non-existant districts and funny numbers. This should be in breaking news if, that indeed, is true.
He was nice enough about it, but would prefer no one made waves.
As for this SNAFU... This really needs to be the kind of thing Congress Critters go to jail over.
Check post #6. It’s pandemic.
Barry Soetoro will say that he inherited that situation from his predecessor...
That stinks. I worked for my local school district briefly and I understand what you’re talking about. :(
IMHO, this should be huge news.
Ping to BTLD! Anyone else listening to Baker this morning? See my #11.
Thanks! Just wow! Heads need to roll over this.
