First of all, what is said in counseling is not supposed to be discussed with anyone else. If he where protecting someone from a person who was going to commit a crime then he has legal justification. Otherwise it's supposed to be private.

Second, this guy has been anti-US for long enough to be capable of making things up, so how much credibility does he have in these accusations.

Third, soldiers probably carry a lot of guilt about killing people. They’re human beings and it's an incredibly hard job they do. I'm sure they are affected by killing people, especially when it's so hard to tell who it is that is your enemy and who is trying to kill you. They came to him as patients in need of advice and counseling.

And as a doctor, Hasan had only contempt for his patients, and was trying to get them prosecuted as "war criminals". So much for living up to his medical and military training, and oaths.

But these are not the actions of a crazy man. He showed intent and a single-minded purpose every day.

It will be fun watching his defense "dream team" and liberals tie themselves up in knots trying to make Hasan sound crazy. They might be, but their client certainly isn't. Hasan will have a long life in a supermax prison with only himself as company for 23 hours a day. He can contemplate how he was successful as a murderer, and a total failure as a martyr. What will his god have waiting for him in lieu of the 72 virgins that he can't earn?
