Law Firm's Scam Reopens Hundreds Of Asylum Cases
Stephen Magagnini
Nov. 16, 2009
For years, Sacramento's Sekhon & Sekhon law firm was renowned as a beacon of hope.
The firm, boasting a 95 percent success rate, helped more than 1,000 immigrants from a half-dozen nations get political asylum in the United States based on a fear of persecution.
Many of those new Americans now stand to be deported, because as many as 700 coached by the firm's lawyers and interpreters told phony stories of torture and rape to immigration judges and asylum officers.
In June, following a three-month trial in Sacramento's federal court, three of the firm's lawyers and two interpreters were convicted of conspiracy to defraud the government. Prosecutors call it one of the most brazen immigration scams in U.S. history.

Oh, I think the H1-B and other so-called worker shortage programs like EB-3 (permanent residency) for nurses might qualify.
And on a different note, as ghastly as female genital mutilation is, if it was done to a woman when she was a baby, the powers-that-be in her country are not going to do it to her again.
Imagine that. Here you have a government-offered, government-run benefit available to people who can establish eligibility, and it produces massive fraud through widespread false claims to eligibility, all helped along by lawyers. Who’d’ve thought it?
Well, believe me, government health care will be much different. Lots of safeguards, few lawyers. Trust me.
Not.
Immigration Attorney is code for “illegal immigrant attorney”. I had the rare and unfortunate experience of being locked in a intesive care ward with an LA “immigration attorney” who was suffering from an heart problem. There were a continuous stream of clients visiting. They had numbers out in the waiting room. The daugher of the “attorney” was controlling the flow and taking orders. They were openly planning bring clients across the border from Mexico from other countries. They had legal and illegal plans. It was liking listening the “Godfather” and his minions and supplicants. These people know no legal limits and are looking for every opportunity to get paid to get someone into the country.
I can say it was a rare way to spend about 7 days..with only a curtain to muffle the criminal conspiracies.
Hey...ICE..are you there?
Interesting story, probably not so rare.
Last night talk show host Terry Anderson gave his ‘most horriblist clown of the week’ award to an immigration lawyer, now a mayor of a sanctuary city.

The lawyers who coached the immigrants to lie should be arrested, tried, convicted and punished for suborning perjury.

I wonder if they advertise south of the border ...billboards ... flyers ...newspaper ads ... radio ...sandwich boards?
Who collects the initial money? The Coyote? Wouldn't be surprised if the Lawyer also runs a day labor agency and rents them part of a room. (After registering them to vote, of course.)
If your blood pressure can take it, subscribe to the crooked immigration lawyer’s website at http://www.ilw.com/immigdaily/
The arrogant unwashed who write in complaining about how their “rights” are being denied will make you sick. Reading this site for a month will make you want to close the borders tight shut to any who write in.
