LAST SENTENCE OF THE ARTICLE SAYS A LOT:

Recently, Scott made news when he was subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury looking into the admissions practices of Chicago's elite schools.

Yep, and this article lists Blago, Ayers, and Scott. Wonder if they were afraid a connection would be made somewhere.

Boy, they’re dropping like flies! I’ll be surprised if Blago makes it to trial!

Perhaps he had access to the DOE student records for the early 1960’s.

Perhaps his testimony regarding admissions to the elite Chicago schools would be very damaging to a whole string of people from several generations, not only the current ones.

Once again, my tagline says it all!

Yep, that’s a “BINGO!” sentence if I ever heard one... A man who knew too much about those who don’t want things known - or especially don’t want the secrets let out in court! Honestly, he must have pissed Daley off, or someone Daley is indebted to...

As far as choice of disposal for his corpse — floating in the Chicago River definitely sends a message beyond just the fact the guy is dead. The Chicago River is just DISGUSTING (I don’t imagine it’s gotten THAT much better in the last 15 years or so). It’s like a poetic justice statement — slime floating on slime (but only if you ignore the fact that whoever put him in the river probably deserves to be in there more than he did...).
